The result for me doesn't matter, I'm 110% certain the lads are going to give absolutely everything performance wise, win lose or draw that's all we can ask for, echoing what others have said I'm sure it's what the boss would want

We will either win 8-0 or lose 8-0. Not that this games score matters...

but when the game comes where, temporarily , the players are able to channel their grief into a sheer determination to honor Vichai, a team is in trouble.

it could be Cardiff or Barcelona.. but someone is getting it.

The percentage of would be professional footballers that actually make the grade is tiny.

The percentage of would be professional footballers that actually get to Premier League level is miniscule.

Obviously ability is the key factor but mental strength must be vital.

The players will be up for it and try telling them that the result does not matter.

I'm sure evryone is aware but the Egg chasers are in town on Saturday , Wales v Scotland at the Principality stadium  KO  14:25 . Cardiff will be heaving, make sure you leave nice and early and sing your fcuking hearts out.

A totally understandable decision from the playing staff. But, slipping back into supporter mode briefly, I can’t help thinking it’s the wrong one. One more week to get focussed would not have hurt anyone. Cardiff will have been 100% focussed on this match all week. There is no way we have been. I so want our first game after Vichai’s passing to be a fitting epitaph. I just don’t think this will be ?

I think it will be the complete opposite. It’s an opportunity for the players to express their togetherness as a team and as a club. Every one of them will be playing for Vichai.

Training sessions must be a truly miserable environment to be in at the minute, 90mins of raw emotion pouring out could do them the world of good.

So hope you’re right.

It really could go either way, but this squad is capable of playing out of their skins while being emotionally charged... Think the CL games and the Liverpool game post Ranieri sacking. Riyad had a bit of a stormer yesterday too, scored at the beginning right after the minute of silence. Riyad even said post match it had been occupying his mind and he hadn't slept well because of it. So overall I think it's more likely to be a positive than a negative effect. There'll be no criticism from anyone regardless of the result, so they'll be playing with freedom.

It's going to be a strange feeling on Saturday come match time, but it's the right decision to play.

The quicker the football side of the club gets back to normal the better for everyone involved.

I suppose that there are a number of sides that we could come up against where we don’t require much preparation and if we play on the front foot with intensity then we should win ..... Cardiff is certainly one of those games. I just hope that Claude recognises that the players need to be allowed to get on with it and doesn’t try to impose any kind of complicated tactical plan  - think Ranieri’s set up at soton or home to Chelsea

I for one am glad this is going forward. I honestly believe it’s the best thing for the club to have something besides the tragedy to focus on, and this can be a true bonding experience for the squad.

I can’t help but wonder, though, whether this is something that was 100% in the hands of the club. “Further discussions with the PL” would have taken place - if the league had wanted the game to go forward and the club didn’t, that could have gotten pretty awkward. I guess we can all be glad it never came to that.
