Chelsea (A) Match Thread

Recommended Posts

Hmmm! Well we made it to half time without conceding against the team who recently beat Man City, so.... Just would be nice to have a tiny bit more possession, and for Vardy to find his first touch. Hopefully Gray to come on before too long, and for Hazard to get stuck in the toilet or something.

Maddison's main squeeze must be happy, judging by how often he goes down. He also had a chance to play Vardy through, but he got greedy.

Do we think Okazaki would be an improvement? ;)

Disagree. It is much more to do with the quality of the chances he is getting this year. He needs to do a lot more to get half a chance this season.

This is a metrics based on the quality of the chances.
He misses a lot of easy goals he would have scored previous seasons.

Chelsea's passing is so quick, sharp and accurate. Ours, well, ... isn't.

The best we can hope for is 0-0, but I can't see us holding out for another 45 if we keep inviting them unchallenged into our final third.

Not an easy watch.

Why are people still questioning Vardy?

He can hardly be blamed for not having any service.

He hasn't done anything with the possibilities that he has had and he's doing more handwaving than running. Looks like the only way he'll do anything is if someone is fouled inside the box. He can't even run with the ball like Gray can.

That save from the Wilf shot however was world class. Hard, fast, well placed and the guy got there and kept a strong strong wrist. Incredible save.

Has my limit been reduced?

Worth noting we haven’t gotten a win (or is it any points?) from Chelsea away since the 1970s, I think.

They have also managed 3 consecutive clean sheets at home.

After a quick count up, I think we've got 11 league points and 1 cup draw there since 1970.

Won 0-2 in 2000.

We can't just spend the entire match giving the ball away or just hitting it up to Vardy and hope he keeps the ball. The players will be knackered after seventy minutes. So far we have done well defensively t we need to keep hold of the ball more and have players  up supporting Vardy

Would be a win. We got a point there earlier this year

And as far as I remember, we battered them in every compartment of the game but were unable to score for some reasons.
And then, the slow degrading of the results began, let's hope this year we'll live an opposite story.

PL stats having down as missing 8 big chances so far this season, he only missed 6 all of last season and 6 the season before.

He can't put his chances away this season.

Good. Disciplined

But not winning, so yet another stick to beat Puel with

(FFS. We would have been 3 up with any other manager on the planet.....)

Vardy need to hold the ball better to give us a chance so far his hold up play has been poor.

You expect these types of playing tactics if you were Burnley and Huddersfield.  How as fans we can accept this type of cross with the players we have is criminal.  I hope Puel changes tact, and pushes us up further up the pitch.

Sorry to break this news to you but our players are bang average.
