He deserves much better than our bench.

He does - although I dont think hes a good fit for us, or possibly the premier league

Massive shame really, with Silva also seemingly on his way, creativity wise in the central midfield role we are lacking, him moving on strongly suggests we have one coming in, who that's is for knows, maybe the elneny rumour more truth behind it then we think

He certainly wasn't a bad signing for us. A little bit sad that he's going actually. Though as others have mentioned, we will need to let a few go before we can get few in.

All said and done he was a poor signing for us and looked overpriced from the off.

£12m for a Sevilla squad player who was six months from his 30th birthday. He was also due to go to Sunderland the year before for £7m and he pulled the deal at the last moment.

He was never a regular here and always a squad player. No doubt we'll be getting a negligible fee if a fee at all. Sevilla must have laughed all the way to the bank, another poorly thought out buy getting a player we knew was never going to be nothing more than an average player for us with no chance of recuperating our money back.

Would be a mistake imo, leaves us with no creativity in the centre of the park. Silva is useless and James has no legs.

Hard to create when your not playing, coupled with no assists in 27 apps, I don't think he will be a massive loss.

I think it suits him to go back to Spain and to play as at 29 you need to be playing,  and the club to get him off the wage bill, to enable us to rebuild.

He's 31 a fortnight today.

He's another big money signing that was too old to improve and not good enough for an automatic starting place. It's our speciality.

Hardly big money in this day and age, for someone with experience in Champions League and Europa League.

Do you watch much Spanish football, he averaged 25 starts a season in his first 3 seasons at Seville and played most of their Champions League and Europa League games whilst being club captain in his last two seasons.

Who are the others?

Is he creative?! Steady at best for me, he's looked pretty sluggish this season and I don't see a future for him here. Another expensive signing that hasn't really succeeded.

He seems the sort of player that thrives in Spain but football is played at a much quicker tempo over here (well it should be anyway) and he's not up to it. Just another player who doesn't make enough impact on matches.

Shame to see him go as he is undoubtedly a good bloke to have at the club and came across as a really nice guy when I met him but he isn’t irreplaceable so if we get a decent fee and line up a different type of player to replace him I’m fine with that.

He was at Sevilla 4 seasons and his best season he had 25 league starts, his last season he had 12 starts. He came on for 7 mins in totals in the 3 games foe Sevilla when they won the Europa Cup three times.

He was basically a bench player that covered for injuries or when players were rested. Sevilla had lined up to sell him to Sunderland for £7m the season before when we waded in with our £12m, they couldn't believe their luck to get nearly twice as much for a squad player a few months from his 30th birthday. They then spent half the transfer fee on Ever Banega who is now linked with Arsenal. great business for Sevilla.

He has come here and surprise, surprise he's been a bit player for us as well as we're a similar sized club to Sevilla as we fish in the same waters for players. We'll be lucky to get a transfer fee for him.

Iborra, Slimani, Silva, Benalouane and dare I say Ghezaal and Ward will be added to that list by the time they leave.

I can probably forgive Silva as he was expected to come here as a first choice player but the other five had failure written all over them before they even kicked a ball for us and have lived up to expectation.

If we get more than €3m I'll be doing exactly what Jamie Vardy does when he scores the winner at Goodison Park.

Where is this ‘creativity’ people associate Iborra with? The only through ball I can remember is his ball to Mahrez to set up Vardy’s goal at anfield last year.

He is just like all our other CDM’s, but really slow.

If we don’t have another CM lined up then yes i’d keep him. But if we sign another CM who is better suited to Puel’s tactics then it’s a no brainer to let Sloworra go.

Disappointed that no one has ignored the football and just banged on about what a good looking gentleman Iborra is.

Our team will become less handsome overall if he goes.

( Unless Andy King takes his “many faces” away at the same time.)

I am too heartbroken to talk about it to be honest. I imagine the same is true for @Suzie the Fox

I think that's being a bit harsh!

Iborra was never signed to be a first team player, but to give us better strength in depth. In 16/17 we were really stretched in both central midfield and centre defence at times and we realised we needed more depth. People say Claudio lost it (which he did), but at times we were running a central midfield of King and Amartey after Drinkwater got injured. Ndidi came in, but having another option in case Drinky / Ndidi to select from made a lot of sense. And once Drinkwater left Iborra stepped in and did a good job. Actually one of the most baffling things for me last season was why Puel dropped Iborra all of a sudden. Whilst Mendy has turned out to be much better than Iborra, last season when Mendy was on loan, our best run of form and results came from the Ndidi and Iborra combination.

I would agree that a move away makes sense, but personally I'd say a thank you to Iborra who was always professional, appreciated the fans and for the most part did a good job when called upon.

Silva isn't useless, we've ruined him. Only we can buy a Portugal regular and sporting Lisbon captain and not play him regularly, same as what we did with kramaric
