hackneyfox Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Needs a hamstring op. Gray needs to step up now.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Gutted. He is one of our most important players imo.
StriderHiryu Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Gutted for Marc because he's a fans favourite for good reason. But I don't think this is a bad thing necessarily. Now it's up to Gray, Ghezall and Barnes to show us what they have. Time for them to claim their place in the team as first choice players!

Ric Flair Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Bad doo but others have to step up now. Annoying that Ndukwu is still injured as I think he'd feature had he not been.

urban fox Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 this is bad news. Didn't even know he had picked up an injury until not in squad for last week. Presumably it happened during training? As others have said it is now there for someone to step up to the plate and stake their claim for first choice starting spot. At least it will save Puel the dilemma of having to drop him for being the best player on the pitch by disobeying orders and trying to make insightful forward passes to Vardy.
That_Dude Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Really big blow that. His work rate will be sorely missed.

What a ridiculous assertion to make.
Foxhateram Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Damn that's a huge blow for our squad. His energy is really important to our team. He will be sorely missed. His workrate drives others on.
UPinCarolina Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Opens the door for others - time to see who will walk through. Our lack of bench coverage for RB/LB will trouble us now. Albrighton always provided defensive work and allowed us to adjust shape at times. We’ll have to stick Simpson on the bench every match going forward.
Xen Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 He gives absolutely everything for the team every match he played, and his versatility to be effective on both flanks AND at RB when needed was a big boost to us. Possibly the only remaining title winner whos actually got better since then. Gutted for him but as others have said, time for the younger players to step up. Barnes looks like a positive option on the left, and if Ghezzal can perform at the level he did vs United we'll have a tidy player on our hands, although a very very different style to Marc. Biggest opportunity goes to Gray though, who's not really done enough to lock down a starting spot. With Albrighton ruled out he should get some more consistent minutes though and its up to him to make the most of them.
Guest Col city fan Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Gutted for him No player tries harder

MC Prussian Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Well, isn't this great news? One of the most hardworking, most consistent and reliable players, who also offers plenty of experience, drive and energy on the pitch, out for so long. I do hope Ghezzal, Barnes and Gray step up and take this chance. Because they really have to, Gray and Ghezzal due to their underwhelming performances as of late in particular. This is your opportunity to shine. Just don't try to play at right-back, and politely refuse to play there, even if the gaffer asks you to. And yeah, stop calling that Algerian fella "Gazelle" on the air, ok? Cringeworthy misspelling. Makes him sound less human, and more of an animal.
PloTok Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 In a funny sort of way, I reckon Puel will see the plus side. Albrighton makes himself hard to drop because of his work rate and general endeavour. What he does, he does darned well and he can be relied upon to do it. You know what you're getting with Marc. Yet I don't think he's a Puel type player. I don't think Puel sees him as a part of the plan so, in a sense, Albrighton might be seen as 'blocking' progress towards it (blocking is not quite the word I want but maybe you get my drift) Thing is, Albrighton is just so 100% and for that alone deserves at least to be on the bench. With him not being available, Puel gets to (or is able to) try his alternatives. In theory, given the talents our squad possesses, we shouldn't miss him. That said, I personally would've liked him available for Spurs. I reckon Marc would be up for that one!
Countryfox Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Not good for us but will give Clod a chance to give others a real go and see who can cut the mustard and perhaps try a few new formations. Thought he was invincible !!
GingerrrFox Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Perfect opportunity for Barnes, Gray and Ghezzal to prove they can do it. Otherwise another winger might be on the shopping list this summer.
