He won’t be going Tottenham. They won’t want to get involved in a bidding war and get embarrassed when they can’t afford their man. They have massive stadium debts to pay off and Levy isn't the type of owner to neglect finances.

Spurs will spent their summer and budget tying down their best players.

I keep reading more and more about Spurs' interest.  If it's true they'll nab him like they nicked Alderweireld from under Southampton's noses.

Parasites.

They havnt signed a player for the last two transfer windows. you can hardly call them parasites.

What's that got to do with it?

The reference was because they've taken players away from clubs that had taken them on loan.  Not exactly cricket, that.

Scavengers.

Scavengers and parasites.

Find your own players Spurs.

F**k it, why not?

Could be fun...:D

Believe it when I see it... with their duty free contract up for renewal at Kingpower I just don't see any investment and I don't really see how either considering FFP

Soyuncu, Silva and £5/10m sounds fair to me

**** giving them cash on top, the two players is more than enough.

Ffp allows for 25m of losses across three years and and even then, a break of them would probably result in a fairly limp fine. We can afford to have a year where we post a loss of 30m

If you were Monaco then it absolutely isn’t

Soyuncu after a full season could be worth 50m alone.

I dont think it's a good deal for us.

I believe he has the potential to not only be a good CB but a fantastic to one of the best CBs there is

We could throw in Calgar on a season long loan for free in lieu of 8m (and we pay most of his wages)  ...........  we don’t have to sell him

£35m + Silva. Send them Soyuncu on loan for the season to sweeten the deal.

I agree with Soyuncu on loan not as a permanent deal but no for the fee you’ve stated. £25m + Silva & Soyuncu on loan is a bloody good deal.

Just don’t think Monaco will value Silva at £15m... for us £5m off Youri’s price and Silva off the wage bill would be ok I think.

Then again there’s a reason I’m not DOF lol

There is not a single piece of evidence to suggest anyone at the club is willing to put money in. It’s not been done since we got up.

Literally the last statement Top made is about sustainability.... as it is every year.

Tbh I don’t think any of the investment in the squad since we returned to the PL has been paid for by King Power.

I think they played an important role in getting us up, but since then spending on wages and transfer fees has essentially been paid for by broadcasting revenue.

However I do agree with you that our transfer spend this summer is likely to disappoint quite a few.

Last summer we spent around £100m on players and made around £75m from sales - i.e. a net spend of circa £25m

I’d expect something similar this year, meaning we won’t be able to afford Tielemans unless we sell too.

You know what babs, I have been waiting to see (since we got promoted) , if the owners were actually prepared to ‘bankroll’ us in the PL but events with the league win and CL campaign overtook things. And now, with the training ground and stadium expansion investment , it’s even tougher to see what’s being invested which isn’t purely club generated.

Guess we only have three months to find out !

I was very confident about signing Youri until I heard what he said in an interview after Chelsea. I was surprised people on here were like "sounds promising" as if they were just hearing what they wanted to hear - he said all the stuff you'd expect "great club, positive place, yadayadayada" but the way he worded some of the answers seemed to me he had made his mind up and he was out of here.

You got a link to this interview?

Strange logic.

it’s got to do with it because they havnt signed a single player for a long time. i remember when we signed a david Putnham. we got the signing because we managed to  get his registration in before the lower league club did that  he had just renewed his contract with.

Does that make us parasites too? no . why? because it was a long time ago.

You make yourself sound like a jilted ex girlfriend.

Why ever not?

I think that this team has an "embarrassment of riches" in terms of quality center halves and backs. Soyuncu is absolute quality with the ball at his feet and I think has the potential to be a great defender. I haven't seen Benkovic kick a ball in Premier League yet so there are no guarantees that it will work out. People some how think all these players grow on trees and we can just snap our fingers and another one will come along.

In Rodgers teams I've seen the continuous problem of players be they keepers, center halves or backs unable to handle the pressure of being pressed or playing the ball from the back with passes to feet in the midfield. Destroying the tempo of our an attack before it even gets started. I think Soyuncu can do these things and more.

Don't want to see one part of our future built only to screw up another. Screw Monaco. Lets wait and see what happens.
