The Latin name for a newt is Lisotritan Vulgaris.

The Latin name for a buzzard is Buteo Buteo.

Whilst not interesting at first glance, it became more interesting when I found that Lisotritan Vulgaris (Hungarian Left back) and Berko “Buteo Buteo” Berkaravic (Hungarian utility man) were both on trial at Leicester only days before Holloway got sacked.

What a tangled web we weave.

Coincidence? I think not....

LCFC demonstrating fantastic long term planning.

Filbert yes -no need to be politically correct on here mate. There are some caravan sites in the vicinity(without planning permission) and you can only form opinion on your personal experience so yes I would wipe them off the landscape. But it wont happen .

Urban you need to try some other sports you may be really good.Seagrave is a very difficult/expensive site to redevelop but the attraction was that planning permission would be easy and it sure was despite Frank and the wildlife

Real bad eggs come from those parks too. Old chap from Sutton Coldfield got killed by one in a botched burglary the other week.

All those cash points getting ripped out in the night.... hmmmmm

Well considering it’s prob not going to be built for a few years that statement says he is looking to stay. ?

And obviously he needs to do well and we don’t sack him before :o

One more season after this one and it's good to go . . . apparently. You'd have to look into McLarens previous contracts to guage wether it'll likely be done on time and Rodgers has another season in him here, surely.

It will need time to bed in though, the groundwork basically sets a clean slate for them to work on, no trees or natural features, everything around the training ground and pitches needs to be planted and grown - look at St.Georges Park, it's been installed for a few years now and from what you see of it there's rows of mini-trees still with their splints(?) holding them in place and empty space. No doubt it'll be fit to purpose though and grand when bedded in.

Contractor reveals its part in Leicester City's £100m training ground development

£1.2m contract signed for key element of new training ground

£1.2m contract signed for key element of new training ground

A building products supplier which has won a £1.2 million contract to help construct the new Leicester City training ground has lifted the lid on details of the scheme.

Mick George Ltd has signed a deal to support work on the £100 million project, which will see a state-of-the-art training facility on the site of the former 185-acre Park Hill Golf Club site off the A46, between Loughborough and Melton.

The construction firm is supplying 16,900m3 of concrete to help to create features such as a basement swimming facility at the development.

The training ground – replacing outdated facilities at Belvoir Drive, Leicester – will have 11 full-size pitches, with eight smaller pitches and outdoor training areas, plus a full-size indoor pitch within a signature central building.

The indoor facilities include 35 bedrooms, a hydrotherapy pool, rehabilitation facilities and dining areas for the club’s academy and first team, as well as administration offices and a media centre.

Next to the main building is a full-size indoor artificial pitch.

The centre will even include a sports turf academy, to train the next generation of groundsmen and women, and a 499-seat mini-venue show pitch, so that the under-23 and under-18 teams can experience a match environment.

The designs have been drawn up by the same architects that planned Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground and Liverpool’s new main stand developments as well as Number One Court at Wimbledon and Twickenham’s East Stand.

Mick George Ltd will play its part by supplying 16,900m3 of concrete from its new plant at Mountsorrel.

The concrete will be used throughout the entire site for things such as foundations, drainage, kerbing, slabbing, structural concrete and waterproof concrete for the swimming pool basement.

It is working on behalf of Gallagher Group, employed by principal contractor McLaren Construction, and will be supplying its concrete over the course of 60 weeks.

The training ground is scheduled for completion in the middle of next year.

A spokesman for Mick George said the finished site will include 17 new ponds to attract wildlife and help to manage surface water drainage.

In addition, 38,000 new trees will be planted across more than 27 acres of existing woodland, alongside 11 acres of new planting and landscaping and 36 acres of wildflower grassland.

Michael George, managing director of Mick George Ltd, said: “We are very excited to work on this prestigious project.

“As a business we’re always engaging in and supporting projects that harness the development of talented individuals.

“We’re certain that this project will deliver in that aspect.

“Our concrete service continues to make progress, and the award of such a high-profile project is testament to the quality service that we provide.

“It’s a great project to get our new Leicestershire batching plant fully functioning.”

I’d like to see concrete proof of the progress.

Just hope the builders/contractors have enough grit and determination to get the job done on time.
