I've said it before but it wouldn't even be a debate if Foakes had been involved with England before Bairstow.

We are just so easy to get out. Root and Curran have had 4 extra lives between them and still didn’t cash in. We are so poor against the moving ball and are off to New Zealand next

For me this is one of the most frustrating batting displays of the series - the Aussies haven't been on fire, batsmen have got in and then got themselves out, and we should have been comfortably scoring 350+ on this pitch.

a few of them really need to look at themselves and certainly have to be questions raised about their places in the team too,

at the end of the series its going to be a few players barely 5 from england to come out with any sort of credit

Feel sorry for Jos Buttler. How many times does he seem to get lumbered with the tail? I know it's going to happen sometimes when he bats at 6/7 but he rarely gets the chance to bat with a top order batsman for any length of time.

Our middle and top order seem to keep swapping whose gonna be fooking useless each innings. 

Today the top order did okay, and then Stokes onwards decided they were going to be useless

We are playing the long game here, making Mitch Marsh look good to keep him in the test set-up until the away series.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm certainly in favour of keeping Buttler in the side for the way he can go explosive like this when needed, even though it doesn't happen as often as folks may like.

Also, if Leach can develop into a good wicket-taker for England we might finally have a good spin option who can also bat a bit.

Was up at 88/89mph at times as well yesterday, he's more than a just a medium pacer now.

Our middle order starts at 3. 4 is an all rounder, 5&6 are predominantly one day players and 7 is an all rounder. Batting line up hasn’t been this weak for a while.

Again, unpopular opinion but I actually think there hasn't been all that much between the sides in terms of performance this series either. Smith - with help from Cummins - has pretty much carried Aus on his own and that's been the difference between the teams, not a big gap between all or even most of the players.
