Buce Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Mine - as far as I can work out - is sat in front of a black and white television with my mother watching Winston Churchill's funeral.
Nalis Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 I think I was one of those metal circular climbing frames in nursery school. Also randomly remember seeing Wet Wet Wet's version of Little Help from my friends on top of the pops too. So its either one of those, cant remember which was first, probably around 4 at the time.
DennisNedry Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Mine is listening to my mums tummy when she was heavily pregnant with my little sister - I was 3 and a half at the time. Quite a nice memory to have I suppose
Alf Bentley Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 My earliest memories were all emotional, not visual memories. The earliest one (aged 3) was a feeling of horror that my Dad was being thrown onto a bonfire. My Mum had taken me to a Guy Fawkes' Night event....must have been an exceptionally dapper Guy. I say those "were" my memories as, because I've told them a few times over the years, I no longer have them.....I now have memories of those memories. The emotional has become factual.
Unabomber Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 I don’t remember anything before Leicester won the premier league quite a nice first memory
Izzy Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Just started school and was climbing the ropes in PE. Got right to the top and for some reason let go, fell, and smashed my head on the ground. Lay there in a daze as all the kids gathered round with blood pissing out the back of my head and Peter Kempton shouting "Errr, you can see his brain!" Still got the scar...

That probably explains a few things, tbf...
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 My brother died just as I turned 4 and all my memories previous to this are of him. Perhaps the most vivid one is riding the merry go round type train with him on Weymouth seafront.

But then he does still have the Champions League to work towards, so that will probably be enough to keep him from getting itchy feet for a few more seasons yet. Ultimately I want to live in a world where hard work pays off, and it's not just about how much money you have in the bank. I know Liverpool have been backed financially, but the overall quality of their squad is far less and if they do pull it off they will have done so by pushing their bodies to the absolute limit. Tbh, I think the Scousers have punched above their weight, this season; a bit like us in '16, they built up momentum that carried them forward. Depressingly, I think Man City will win it at a canter, next year. Edit: I have absolutely no idea how this post ended up here - could a mod move it, please? (Pre-match thread)

Trav Le Bleu Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 I remember being in a warm and safe place in the dark, when suddenly all this water started rushing past me and I got pushed through some tiny hole that was much to small for me. Seriously, I thought I was going to be crushed alive, but at the last moment I thought I was going to be saved as someone pulled me out into the light, but then they slapped me and for a terrible moment I thought they were cutting my willy off!
bovril Posted 6 May 2019 Posted 6 May 2019 Probably summer holidays. Scotland when I was four, I think. Just vague bits of landscape, a toy car my Dad bought me. The dining room table in our hotel.
egg_fried_rice Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 I have a really tough time remembering anything before the age of about 10. The odd flashes, but nothing particularity concrete. One thing I do remember from being very small - must've been less than 4 at the time - was breaking the eggs that were in the fridge, feeling guilty, and then scooping the eggs into the broken shells before putting them back in the fridge in the hope no-one would notice

ozleicester Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 I remember walking down a lane with my dad to a football match, i cant figure out where it was or when it was and dads dead so he cant help (and he told me he played semi pro, "I marked Danny Blanchflower" is what he tells me) but i cant find any record of that. When ive mentioned it to mum she doesnt recognise what im describing (walking past a power station that is down dip on four sides, then along a muddy lane to a match). These days i wonder if im making it up
MC Prussian Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 One of the earliest memories I have is a visceral one. Losing a baby tooth on an iron climbing frame in day care. That hurt. Or seeing a Venus flytrap for the very first time. I vaguely remember the sights and sounds of the first apartment we had as a family, with my mother and father. Must've been around three years old.

stripeyfox Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 I can remember when the house opposite us caught fire and there were fire engines in the close and firemen in our house. A Leicester Mercury which my mum retained puts the date of this fire as August 1977 - so I was 4 years old. I think I can also remember standing in the garden with my sister when it finally rained after the long hot summer in 1976 - but I'm not sure if I actually remember it, or I remember my mum telling me about it!
