The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 cant see them being arsed, hoping for a few vardy goals

So when Vardy comes to retire you wouldn't appreciate it if on his final match the opposition fans recognise his contribution as a legend within the league? I agree it would be weird if he were just changing clubs within the premiership, but for me it's different seeing he's off to Spain.

It might be nice, but should there be an expectation for other fans to applaud him? Not at all. With regards to Hazard: His goal didn't win us the league (no more so than Cahill's anyway). He's not a Leicester player and never has been. He's not even guaranteed to be leaving for Madrid, ffs. He's an immense player and I enjoy watching him, but why on earth would we give a send-off to a player who has nothing but a tenuous link to our club, in a match when we have our own legends who are deserving of a send-off? And FWIW, I would rate Vardy as more of a PL legend than Hazard. The latter is the better player, but legends are built on much more than that and in Vardy's case the rise from non-league and the Leicester title (where everyone bar Spurs was cheering us on) puts him in a unique bracket,

I am not saying I am going to bowing down at his feet or anything, but a bit of polite British clapping at the appropriate moment won't kill anyone. They will be well gone before the Leicester lads do the lap of honour and we give a proper send off to our guys.

It seems like I'm constantly trying to prove you wrong but I had the same thought regards the Cup final....however that's the 29th May, they have a choice whether to rest players post Frankfurt or keep them fit given lack of competitive games between 12th and 29th.

Clever Fox Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 I'm sure we will go for the win which should give us 8th place. That would show some improvement on last season.
yorkie1999 Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 Clap hazard for contributing to us winning the league...ffs. How about Man City fans applauding kasper for not saving kompanys goal.

oxtonfox Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 This could be a benefit style game with zip all on it, just pride and a place or two. Goodbyes to the old guard leaving eg Hazard, Shinji etc. Probably a 1-1 or 2-1 1-2 to them. I fancy Higuain will score and a penalty miss but I’m not sure who. I don’t believe Drinky will play he’s well out of favour with Sarri.
Keiriel Posted 7 May 2019 Posted 7 May 2019 I'm in two minds about this game. If we win against Chelsea, Spurs have to beat next season's relegation favourites to nail down 4th place. Let's hope United can pull off a miracle. I also need to learn how to read. Reeeeeeee!
