Imagine how we’d feel if we suddenly got up rooted and became the Devonshire Foxes. Then set up our own Phoenix club, when we played them it would be more than a little petty. AFC Wimbledon have a done an amazing job to get whey they have. MK Dons, after their awful re-birth 15 years ago, are doing a fine job in their own right. Wimbledon should be proud of their rise. MKD should be proud of what they're doing now. I can understand the initial anger/pettiness, maybe even until they first played each other. Last season Wimbledon were in a higher division. At some point, surely, you start to move on, like with most things in life. As a fellow football league club, AFCW have treated MKD very poorly. They could rise above any bitterness - 15 years on - but they choose not to. I personally think it reflects poorly on them. PS Whenever I've covered games at MK Dons, they've been nothing short of magnificent, always helpful with the media and I've seen some of the terrific work they do in the community. I despise how they came about but I applaud what they do now. If that's an unpopular view, I can deal with that.
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 August 2019 Posted 5 August 2019 Any idea why Birm v Portsmouth as tomorrow night and the rest of the games are next week???♂️

KrefelderFox666 Posted 12 August 2019 Posted 12 August 2019 2nd Round draw is taking place tomorrow (Tuesday 13th August) live on SkySports after the Salford vs Leeds live match. Gonna be strange having the draw done in a studio rather than a supermarket or at 4am in Bangkok.
Corky Posted 12 August 2019 Posted 12 August 2019 They'll probably still drag in Timmy Mallett and Zippy from Rainbow to conduct it, though.
KrefelderFox666 Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 The draw is split into North/South and the draw numbers are confirmed as: South Section North Section 1 AFC Bournemouth 1 Aston Villa 2 Brighton & Hove Albion 2 Burnley 3 Cardiff City 3 Everton 4 Crystal Palace 4 Leicester City 5 Fulham 5 Newcastle United 6 Norwich City 6 Sheffield United 7 Southampton 7 Tranmere Rovers / Hull City 8 Watford 8 Grimsby Town / Doncaster Rovers 9 West Ham United 9 Wigan Athletic / Stoke City 10 Portsmouth 10 Port Vale / Burton Albion 11 Colchester United / Swindon Town 11 Nottingham Forest / Fleetwood Town 12 AFC Wimbledon / Milton Keynes Dons 12 Bradford City / Preston North End 13 Oxford United / Peterborough United 13 Blackpool / Macclesfield Town 14 Queens Park Rangers / Bristol City 14 Blackburn Rovers / Oldham Athletic 15 Plymouth Argyle / Leyton Orient 15 Mansfield Town / Morecambe 16 Wycombe Wanderers / Reading 16 Accrington Stanley / Sunderland 17 Charlton Athletic / Forest Green Rovers 17 Scunthorpe United / Derby County 18 Gillingham / Newport County 18 Rochdale / Bolton Wanderers 19 Stevenage / Southend United 19 Huddersfield Town / Lincoln City 20 Luton Town / Ipswich Town 20 Middlesbrough / Crewe Alexandra 21 Walsall / Crawley Town 21 Shrewsbury Town / Rotherham United 22 Bristol Rovers / Cheltenham Town 22 Sheffield Wednesday / Bury 23 Brentford / Cambridge United 23 Salford City / Leeds United 24 Coventry City / Exeter City 24 Barnsley / Carlisle United 25 Swansea City / Northampton Town 26 West Bromwich Albion / Millwall I fancy either a home game, preferably against a mid to lower PL team, or a local away game.
SemperEadem Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Any of Barnsley, Port Vale, PNE, Bradford, Grimsby or Wigan all being away would do me nicely.
RowlattsFox Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Might be one of few chances I have to get a ticket so hoping anyone in north west.
spacemunky Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Nice to see that there's a couple matches on here today.
walkerleeds Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Barnsley away. Relive the glory days of needing a couple of results there to stay up.
Fox92 Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 As always a new ground for me would be nice. Port Vale away.

Amazed how we've managed to avoid playing them in a competitive match for the vast majority of time I've been a STH holder/reasonable away regular - which is since around 2000. I've been to most other Football League regulars either through our yo-yoing around the leagues or through cup matches, but they and Notts County continue to avoid us.

I only managed to get to Meadow Lane because of the friendly last season. Bradford are one for me to. I started going regular around 2002/03 (I was about 10 and did a handful of away games.... one of which was Grimsby which is how I've ticked that off!) and I believe Bradford away that season was midweek so I didn't go but we haven't played them since
Stuntman_Mike Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Hoping Salford knock Leeds out and we get them to help my 92.

I made Bradford around the Trevor Benjiman days, must have been the 02/03 season I guess. Grimsby was one off my first away matches too in a cup game I think, then again for the infamous Muzzy goal. There used to be a thread on here ages ago with numbers of grounds ticked off by each poster, wonder who's up to where now! One of the downsides of being a Premier League regular is definitely missing out on these grounds, I could go as a neutral but if i'm not at an LCFC game there's usually a list of other things I need to do with my weekend instead.
norwichfox Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 Newport County away....let's get it over with.
Lambert09 Posted 13 August 2019 Posted 13 August 2019 is this not seeded? If not, surely we have an advantage with less prem sides in the northern draw.
