You lot must be mental ?

£20m to Hull to buy him

further 10m in wages

another £18m to hull in sell on clause

£5m+ to agents

£40m to replace him

total cost 90m+ !!!!

we have MADE nothing from this deal

we would have been better off paying him £200k a week and keeping him FFS

and your applauding the man that sold him , give me strength

2nd summer in a row we have sold our best player

I haha reacted you and then I realised you weren't joking.

Daft lad

he has scored goals, helped improve our league position ( more tv money). , played for england and increased the club’s and king power’s exposure, helped bring in merchandising sales and the income we generate from having 11 players on the pitch through tv money far outweighs the expenditure in wages and  transfer fees.

we have made MILLIONS from having him in our team.

He cost us £12m up front and another £5m in bonuses. His initial wage with us was £45k a week so a year of that was £2m, plus a year on £90k a week so total wages = £6.5m. We have to pay Hull 12.5% of the total profit on him so £85m - £17m = £68m x 12.5% = £8.5m. We potentially have already replaced him with Soyuncu and Benkovic. I imagine the money we get from this is going to be used on strengthening our attacking areas, you just love to see it.

Bonuses still have to be paid

the £10m wages I quote will include his cut for not asking for a transfer

ok the sell in clause was less than I expected

up even so he will cost £40m to replace at least

it will be a tiny profit for the league

if we try replace him with either of those two we have Been swindled as we already have them as squad player

small profit and yet we sold our best defender maybe best player

we don’t need the cash either ! For £200k a week he would have stayed Im sure

now that would have been statement of intent

people celebrating the figure is a little shocking , he needs to be replaced and not by someone in the squad , fair enough if they step up but I’ll be sick if he isn’t replaced with a proven quality player

so will Rodgers I suspect

best of luck to him he is a decent lad and has a huge future in a crumbling club

I really thought we wanted to push on to the next level again , if we don’t replace him with quality then I think we are just an upgraded Southampton

I agree Maguire is a big loss - he was well liked and added a spirit to the team that is difficult to price.

However, breaking the wage structure would damage that same spirit, and most likely affect both his and the team's morale. His head was turned. At that point the only solution is to sell, quickly.

Either you don't watch any Leicester games or you have no idea. Maybe our best CB yes but not best player. He is only 1 of 11.

He is not irreplaceable, getting £80m for him, allbeit with some deductions to Hull, agents etc, is great business. We have good young players in our ranks and I hope they get the nod and we don't spend a big whack on an average player.

If you're talking last season I'd be cautious going that far tbh, Once he settled Evans was at least a match for him

Maguire had his heart set on Man U, don’t ask me why, but he did. We got 80m+ for him, can’t honestly complain about receiving a world record fee for a defender that isn’t worth that.

A loss maybe, but the fee we got for him, I think we can more than replace him, and add further to the team.

Christ.

First bad maths. Now fear mongering followed by the conjecture of a past assumption, that hasn't been proven correct.

Are you Sean?

But profit and outlay are separate BTW.

The money spent on Mags and wages are part of our budget.

And budget has nothing to do with profit until it's included in the budget.

Would rather we get 60m june 10th instead of 80m aug 2nd.
