Just looks absolutely, horrendously shot of confidence, I feel for him.

Thing that bugs me most is that he’s been pretty poor on the wing for us but always looked far more effective behind the striker.

Why not let him and Maddison compete for that #10 role? Why continue to play him on the wing.

Because we need a winger there and for whatever reason Brendan’s sees him as that player, despite the inescapable evidence to the contrary.

What I will say about brendan though.....if anyone has got the ability to make perez look at 30m player.....its him.

It's on Brendan really, from day dot it was obvious what Perez would bring. He would be a nice option to have in the Amartey style role of coming in when we have a brutal injury list.

For me, he shouldn't be anywhere near the first 18 when were full fit. Its concerning to.me that as a club we dont seem to want to strengthen in an absolutely weak position

Maybe Brendan sees more from Perez in training than what we do?

I remember Kaspar stating in an interview that kelechi form (when he went on that goal scoring run) is not a surprise as they see what he does in training.

playing devils advocate, maybe Brendan sees something in Perez

Unless Rodgers is capable of turning water into wine or feeding the masses with a couple of loaves and fishes I very much doubt it. How long has Perez been here? He must be the slowest miracle worker in history because he's achieved bugger all with him thus far. For that amount of money you shouldn't reasonably expect to have to turn him into anything, at his age he should be already doing it.

I haven’t seen any of your posts regarding Perez but If you’re getting offended by people getting sick of the OTT personal abuse that some of our players receive then you’re probably one of the idiots doing so.

There’a a clear difference between criticism and nasty, personal slander. Our fan base is terrible for it and has been for a little while now. Embarrassing all round

Can you find or quote any actual personal abuse or slander?

I’ve seen someone today say he’s the worst player we’ve ever had.
That means worse than Roman Bednar, Ryan Bennett, Musa, Akinbiyi, McGivern.

I have never seen such vile sickening comments in my entire life lol enough to push Ayoze to the edge :P

I’m not going to scroll through and quote stuff, this is me done on the matter. Just have a look on Twitter or scroll through the forum if you want to see mate. I know at some point end of last year Perez and his family were receiving a ridiculous amount of personal DM’s on Instagram too. Very odd!

Iheanacho has been here for longer....

Yeah, well I'm with you on that.  If he is actually receiving personal abuse that is unacceptable and pathetic.

On the other hand, as a long term (and pretty harsh) critic, I get a little irritated to labelled a 'hater' or to have criticism called abuse.

I don't do twitter btw for this very reason.  I see it a bit like road rage where people eff and blind at others from the safety of their metal cocoon.  The anonymity of twitter affords similar protection and this seems to bring out the worst in people.

I've only ever seen comments about his footballing ability (or lack of it) on this forum?

Never seen any personal attacks on any other aspect of his life?

As fans, we're entitled to discuss his performances and praise or criticize accordingly...

Unfortunately, with Perez there's been very little to praise in his time here.

Yeah fair enough, like I said there’s a clear difference in between the two. No players should be exempt of criticism! Except Vardy maybe.

Yeah football twitter can be a pretty grim place at times, most likely due to the anonymity you mentioned. For all the good twitter brings it can be extremely toxic, sexist, racist etc.

What I don’t want re Perez situation is for things to get nasty when the grounds open. Last thing we want/need are those horrible groans and moans if he’s warming up etc or being booed when coming on. Some fans are morons and think it’s constructive. Can easily turn nasty, especially if the team isn’t getting the results!

He's always scored goals though despite originally being given nowhere near the chances Perez has had.

So the issue is with Brendan for selecting him, or top for not giving us more to spend on a winger?

I agree Perez not good enough, but how is Perez to blame for not being good enough

just to add I’m not complaining to Brendan or Top. just saying if a player isn’t good enough but still gets picked, should he be blamed or does the finger pointing go elsewhere.

The player has to take some responsibility, not only for his ability and performance levels but also behaviour and professionalism. Dubious to say the least.

Perez might not be able to help being crap but he genuinely harbours a belief and hope he can play for Spain so he's either massively under achieving in which that is his fault or he's living in a dream world.

Also people forget it was his party that cost us at West Ham last season. Then comes back late off his holidays this year. The bloke is earning 56k a week and taking the piss out of us. He’s a waste of time and again if this was 2001 people we be on here arguing against me that akinbiyi will come good and junior Lewis is trying.

It took 3 and a half years for Iheanacho to get a proper run in the team. You could see in cup games and brief spells that he had quality and he could link well with Vardy.

Perez is generally singled out because he's the one who tends to slow things down or waste. Personal abuse is wrong and not needed- questioning his worth in the team isn't wrong.

my problem with perez is te fact that he loses the ball so much

The issue isn’t that he just ‘loses’ it, he actively gives it away.

You missed where I said “playing devils advocate”…

we all Agree Perez isn’t the right player for us, based on performances. So why else would he be picked?

There has to be a reason  that’s all I’m getting at, as most (if not all of us) can see that he’s not good enough.
