I don't think Ayoze is a particularly sensitive guy and he has plenty to smile about. This club has made him a wealthy man and he has a cup winners medal which would have been highly unlikely if he had stayed at Newcastle. He will spend a lot of time on the bench this season but I doubt that that will worry him.

If you're doing a positive, you could try he has lots of money

The game was ruined, but it is worth remembering Perez had a very decent first half.

I was laughing at the rage that would cause on FT, but sadly the laughing stopped.

His link-up play was good.

Increasingly, think he is a confidence player - if he has a good start to the game, you often see him keep that momentum going.

Sadly, that hasn't been happening so often.

Let's hope he's turned over a new leaf with today's performance.

Pleased to see him play well today, just hope that if Rodgers persists with playing him that he can maintain at least that level.

Still looks like he runs with his head down and can fall over at any moment but did OK tonight. As others have said, Ricardo was a huge help for him down that right.

Because I'm sure they all wanted Fofana to break his leg?

Still pretty poor form isn't it? Might fancy showing a bit of restraint given the severity of it.

No, you can't hold a whole team responsible for one players error of judgement.

Perez has done nothing wrong.

That’s the thing. I’m kinda sick of so called fans looking for a scape goat all the time

who’s next on the agenda when Perez eventually leaves ??
try supporting our players that BR has instead of being a sheep and grinding him into the ground.
kudos pmcla26 for defending him on deaf ears

I don’t think it’s a scape goat type situation, I just really don’t think he is at our level to contribute enough. We have a few players like that, take Albrighton- he isn’t a starter for a top 4 team but the fans love him because he comes on, gives his all and at times genuinely looks like one of us on the pitch (see his celebration for  Youri’s cup final winner or the GIF of him in the stadium).

Unfortunately for Perez, he doesn’t really have that connection with fans and coupled with the above makes him stand out like a sore thumb.

Id love him to do well, I actually suggested we sign him when he was at Newcastle but when it comes down to it, he just hasn’t quite got enough.

Understand where you are coming from regards players like Marc and ayoze but if BR sees something in them surely we as fans should back the team he picks instead of looking for reasons to hate or reject him ?

I have followed city for over 50 years and have seen some real dross in the team and if I’m honest ayoze ain’t one of them

he’s not a fans favourite and he may not be as gifted as most of the players around him but he does offer something as BR keeps him involved with the squad.
I just hate the fact that because 1 or 2 fans don’t like him they spread the hate all over FT and even in threads not about Perez

Shout out to the two old guys who sat next to me at the KP and refused to celebrate Perezs goal. Takes a special kind of energy to be that negative.

Ironically if they are reading this Perez’s goal was the winner 😂😂

Now that we're probably not signing a winger, he's going to fire us to glory this season and that is something I'm willing to personally guarantee

Brendan doesn’t play him week in week out and that’s even with the injuries we have had. He often flatters to deceive and his limitations stand out like a sore thumb.

This guy literally missed a sitter that ended up being the difference between champions league and Europa. Football is a harsh environment and unfortunately he hasn’t been good enough for us.
