There has to be a reason  that’s all I’m getting at, as most (if not all of us) can see that he’s not good enough.

I know - I suspect he has a great attitude and is a good player to work with. I also think he follows tactical instructions well. It’s clear that Rodgers is rooting for him and he tends to get quickly frustrated with others

Fans need to cut this guy some slack He is in a poor run of form but has ability. Get behind him rather than wasting time

constantly dissing the bloke

Ayoze is the best footballer in his family  His brother plays for Alnwick Town.

Well his immediate family anyway.  He has a cousin that plays for the Spanish women's national team.

He’s good at winning the ball back for the opposition

I hope I am not over-stepping by suggesting you have broken the chain.   I see this is a well meaning attempt at positivity but perhaps you haven't quite made it.

I don't want to come across as judgemental but if Everton don't buy him for 12 million, it could be your fault.

Perhaps a thread could be started in transfer rumours about Rodgers being an admirer of Alnwick"s Perez

A positive of him being here - he showed off the new training ground on his ‘day in the life’ video before the club took us on a virtual walk through…

See, I can be nice about him!

Honestly, I do not really rate Perez either. But the pile-ons are tiresome, and they're always exaggerations/distortions of the truth. The point being made is that it doesn't need repeating, over and over. That is all.

The pile-ons are the worst thing about our (otherwise brilliant) talkboard. Can you imagine how it may affect players' confidence? Word is bound to get back to them, even if they don't lurk here.

🤣 bar about 2 games, the dip appears to have lasted about two years, hellishly unlucky! Is due his next yearly good performance very soon! 😂

I don't think Ayoze is a particularly sensitive guy and he has plenty to smile about. This club has made him a wealthy man and he has a cup winners medal which would have been highly unlikely if he had stayed at Newcastle. He will spend a lot of time on the bench this season but I doubt that that will worry him.

He has definitely got better in terms of not pulling out of 50-50s. Of course there are still issues about whether we actually want him to win them.

Unless he ultra-dense he must also be very disappointed with his own performances, and this confidence levels must be rock bottom, creating a smashingly negative feedback loop.

I suppose there's a very slim possibility that he might have a game where he does something good with his first touch, gets a bit of confidence, does something good again and so on, and then goes on to have a decent game, and the goes on from there. TBH it seems like his speed issues (slow decision around first touch and woeful pace running with/out the ball) are always going to make it difficult to put a decent enought 'run of good touches/moves' together.

We have no clue how he reacts to the crap that gets spewed at him on here and especially on twitter, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it carries into the stadium next season - then you only need to look at what it did to Nacho being booed by his own fans and how much it can destroy the confidence and mindset of player

Money and a cup winners medal means nothing if whenever he posts something on any social media there is nothing but hate comments on your post - and we know players look at it

He probably knows though that a couple of goals and the hate comments disappear like Scotch mist. You go from zero to hero in a split second in football.
