Same team for me, lets give Barnes and Perez a run and see whether they have can take the opportunity. Both have been in and out the team so far. Praet will get another chance at some point.

There's no width, I appreciate the comment on not wanting crosses, but you need width to stretch and seperate the defence... otherwise you'll be hitting a brick wall all game.

Just stick with what we've done and we'll be golden.

I see the need for width in terms of stretching the play, else we have a congested attritional battle. The question from our point of view is quite what do we do once we are in these wide areas.

If we are occupying the space to merely draw opposition players out of position, then pretty soon they will just let us sit wide whilst they they just sit in the box.

Was propsoing the rather weird setup to try to get Vardy, Maddison and Perez breaking into the box from through balls and chipped passes over the defence.

Anyhow, just passing the time

Keep it low, play it short, move it fast, no floated or whipped crosses.

(In fact no crosses at all)

I'd go similar, except I'd opt for closer to a 4-1-3-2/4-4-2diamond formation and drop Perez for Barnes.

Barnes and Vardy are both capable of stretching the defense out to the wings which will give more space for Maddison/Tielemans to work in. Ndidi can screen the defense and whenever one of the FBs pushes on he can sit deeper. Praet can keep things ticking over nicely and if we need to switch to 4-2-2-2 to control possession for a bit then he's perfectly capable of that. Also gives Brendan an easy switch to playing out-and-out wingers with just one sub if we need it.

I dont quite understand why everyone seems to be wanting to change things. We are playing great football, winning every game we play our best formation.

We dropped points vs Wolves because we played 2 DMs. We lost to Man utd and Liverpool because we had Maddison wide.

Its as simple as this for me, We are BETTER than Southampton, believe were better than them and play to our strengths and not to combat their strengths.

Kasper

Ricardo Soyuncu Evans Chillwell

       Ndidi Tillimens

          Maddison

Perez/Albrighton Barnes

         Vardy.

Play that we win, simple as that..trying to get praet in the game and dislodge our balance is ridiculous. Play our best team, Maddison and Tillmens can dominate that game if you play them centrally and gives more space for Vardy. When Maddisons wide, theres less space in the centre and Maddison cant use his skills(those smart balls around the corner and quick movement). When hes on the wing, he hasnt got the pace of Barnes and the full backs can keep it away from the danger. For me its obvious, play the above team every game(bar injurys or suspesions) and we have a great chance for top 3 even top 2! IMO our best 11(the one above) in their best postions, are the 3rd best team in the league, we will do it if we dont try and be the bloody tinker man every game.

Play the above team: Southampton 0-2 Leicester.

Some of the responses relate to the lack of product from the wingers (As highlighted by Brendan), and yes, I realise Barnes and Gray provided the assists against Burnley.

However, there is no rule to say a good team cannot get better through change.

Or make a right c*cking mess through unnecessary experimentation :D

Praet played right side of midfield for Belgium the other week in a 442 so wonder if he could just come in for Perez and played Maddison slightly further forward. He also got a lot of praise for his performance. From glimpses so far he looks a very good player.

Haven't seen this... What game was that? Belgium play 343

To be honest I was flicking through the channels rather than watching so may have been 343 but he was definitely playing rhs of midfield. Set the first goal up from there.

We shouldn't have lost to Liverpool's first team so there's no ****ing way we're not smashing their reserves.

Rumour that Maddison is still struggling with an injury and may not even travel. When is Rodgers pre match presser so he can confirm?

Well, I'm not worried. Chuck Praet in and postpone finding his position for another day.

Not sure if any team rocks up expecting to lose more than Watford do when they play Man City. Easiest fixture ever.

Sorry, but Perez on the bench for me he's had his opportunity and not taken it. It's not as if he had to adapt from a foreign league or being played in an unfamiliar position.

                    Schmeichel

Ricardo  Evans   Soyuncu  Chilwell

                         Ndidi

         Praet  Tielemans  Barnes

                      Maddison

                         Vardy

Sorry Rusko, this wasn't meant as a reply to you directly, wrong box 🤔

What do these games have in common? Maddison on the wing. 4-1-4-1 will be good.

Maybe switch chilwell out as well though eh.
