The Horse's Mouth Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Got to be 3 at back Ricardo and chilly have the wings to themselves
Deeg67 Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Well 3 at the back is certainly an option I've mentioned as a way of addressing our punchless wide attack, so it'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

Ric Flair Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Very odd but whatever, I trust Brendan. I suggested going 3-4-1-2 for this but the personnel is maverick. Gray and Hamza deserved to keep their places, I'm not a fan of Fuchs centrally either I'd have kept Big Wes in there. We seem to have been very understanding with Vardy as well, it would have been good for him to be involved as I think he could break the PL goals record but family comes first.

Also highlights our search for a CB, and shows where they'd fit in.
HybridFox Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Perez further forward for once too. Will be good to see him how him and Iheanacho link up
lgfualol Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Have we played this formation before? Hope it works
jeffschlupp Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 If you assume Vardy doesn't play against Wigan he'll have had 15 days recovery between Liverpool and Southampton. Maybe the thought process is that he needs a break similar in length to the international break every month or so (Sep, Oct, Nov, late Dec/Jan, Feb winter break, March etc.)? Is Praet injured/ill?

SouthStandUpperTier Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Puel is obviously trying to phase out Vardy.
kingfox Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Different but no idea what the formation is meant to be. All we know is that another Iheanacho masterclass is incoming.

TheSomersetFox Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Gray and Hamza must be being kept fresh for the Wigan game
Bayfox Posted 1 January 2020 Posted 1 January 2020 Well he's certainly mixing things up. And as he got it correct at west ham. Let's see if he's done it again. Feel sorry for wigan if he wheels vardy back out for that game

Means he has had a decent sized break, around 2 weeks assuming he doesn't play against Wigan and starts against Villa. But agree on Hamza and Gray, both deserved to keep their places.

Largely down to to birth of his child otherwise no doubt he'd be in the squad. But yes the rest as a result will do him good.
