Saw PSV play in November and he looked a level above the other players. Scored two and only played 60 mins. Would be surprised if they allowed him to leave especially on loan.

If we loan anyone it's going to be to buy them it we qualify for the CL tbf

Do we know what Di Marzio actually said?

They tend to do a late night 'transfer blitz' so we might get something later.

Bergwijn himself is playing tonight for PSV in the cup at Breda.

Slimani played about 48 hours before he was signed sealed and delivered at Belvoir Drive.

Plenty of time yet!

What a signing that would be. Shame the talk is only loan though. Doubt it’s true also but if it is then it would be a brilliant signing.

was the same for Tielemens.

The defending on that YT is an absolute joke.

He may be faster than Perez. But no way is he better with the ball at his feet or putting it in the net. And we paid 30mil for Perez.

Looks like he has enormous potential but he's a project. Not the immediate answer to our largest problem/goals.

I'm seeing good things happening in the Rodgers reclamation/makeover projects that we have now. Loan with option to buy for me. Keep our options open.

Why would PSV loan him, makes no sense for them, flops he value goes down.

Probably put a fee in there to make it permanent that is higher than usual. That means we get time to asses him and get some insurance on the deal. We could have got Tielemans cheaper if we straight out brought him but that would have been a big risk plus the player at the time might not have wanted a permanent move. So perhaps it’s something like that?

It could also be creative accounting. PSG signed Neymar and Mbappe in the same window by “loaning” him from Monaco with an obligation to buy.

It might simply be that a loan is quicker and easier than a full transfer to complete at this point in the window -from an administrative point of view. If there was the possibility of a permanent switch in the future that is, as there was with Youri Tielemans.

Yes, obviously - but sounds like codswallop.  Why would PSV do it?

They're twelve points behind Ajax and their season is basically done.

If it's true (and I doubt it tbf) we'll no doubt be paying them a reasonable loan fee and agreeing to buy him for a tidy sum.

I wasn’t that impressed with that video he looks clumsy not in full control of the ball. Not enough end product

This is exactly the type of player we should be after. I don't think it's an outlandish signing at all either, from the player's perspective Leicester is a superb club to go to. Memphis Depay, the last highly rated winger PSV had went straight to Man United and flopped because it was too big a move too soon. He has since reinvented himself at Lyon in France and been their best player, so he's still proven to be a good if not great player. For Bergwijn he can transfer to a club that plays high intensity technical football but without the pressure of having to perform every week. Perfect for a player in his early 20's to develop his game until he becomes a world beater, if he's got that in him.

He's honestly the type of player I expected us to sign in the summer, the other being Hwang Hee Chan of Salzburg. Both are technical players, young, experienced but with plenty of room to grow. The types of player that Rodgers would have a field day with.

Whether we get either of those two I don't know, but we will get someone like it I am certain. One of the big pluses we have is that we are literally proving ourselves to be a club you should sign for if you are a young up and comer; you will play regularly, you will improve and there is a high chance you will leave for a crazy fee and wage if you are good enough. And we know those agents will salivate at the thought of getting a double pay day, once for this signing and one for when Real Madrid / Barcelona come calling!
