No political discussion in this topic. That is complaining about a country, a politician, a party and/or its voters, etc

so if anyone gets bored staying at home , try and look up a tv drama from 2008 called Survivors.

Its basically how  a mutated form of influenza wipes out almost the entire world population.

its actually fairly good  :)

I think that was a remake of a 70's series of the same name.

But the remake got canned after the first season

Had a lovely letter from my pension/investment broker today:

Dear Izzy (not my real name )

"We are writing to inform you that as of close of business on Thursday 12th March, the value of your investment portfolio as referenced by the above account number, has fallen by 15.41% since your last quarterly valuation statement"

Fvckin yee ha!

15.41% drop is pretty good considering the plummet Izzy!!

He said it would be in detail on the website shortly.

I swear half the people complaining about lack of information just aren't actually listening properly or are probably playing on their phone or something when it's on.

Everything seems pretty clear to me - we are in social lockdown "unofficially" to see if we can do that and those who can work from home should do so.

By not listening it allows them to attempt to score political points on here.

I think the "vagueness" is simply because they are asking us nicely to comply, rather than forcing us to do so. And this is the best chance of it succeeding. We, as a people are expected to take responsibility and withdraw from social life (not hard for me!), This is better than laws and curfews.

Got the information today that my work is shutting down on campus working from 27th March for at least 2 weeks.

Think its a week too late personally, but have hear rumours thats due to the VC wanting a job in a higher position and he's under scrutiny

Such a shame - kids allowed to go to school but can’t play football against other kids ???

I have a job where we can easily work from home. After Boris' press conference this evening we've been told to still come in as normal.

So if someone, comes in to work gives it you! You sue the ass off your boss please

How long before the banks crash again? Its got too happen surely. How on earth do we continue like this? The crash was bad for a lot of people at different times. For most it was a slow steady decline. This is going to hit everyone all in one go.

I can see some big companies struggling to get through this. I don’t see how the Government can, or should be expected to bail everyone out.

If they’ve been running on tight margins to survive, then they’re partially to blame for putting themselves in that position.

You wouldn’t get JimBob from down the pub asking for a Goverment Handout if he lost his job, to cover his £3,000 / month outgoings. They’d tell him to piss off.

Always keep enough in the bank for a rainy day. The world seems to have forgotten this.

I know, but take Friday and today's performance into account and it's probably nearer 20% down now :(

funnily enough it wasn’t exactly a remake of the 70s show apparently... the show from the 70s ran for one season and a book was written of the same name and the 2098 series was based on the book.

Bit of a technicality but Norris McWurter would be proud of me.

Does make you wonder if some people realise the gravity of the situation and what will happen if it goes on longer. This could go on for months and on and off for a year or two. Even if all the pubs and restaurants were told to close by the government - surely insurance companies can't afford to pay out on all businesses for any length of time?

Where I work, we were being given software to work from home. There was someone who was refusing to use it to begin with. Still thought if the schools were to close she'd get full pay to look after her kids. It came as a complete suprise to her that her employer doesn't have to give her full sick pay to look after a dependant.

If it carried on for a really long time: would it get to the point where governments say to airlines 'we're not bailing you out'. We have business that serve people everyday who are more important atm. You could see some really big businesses go under.

Someone today was joking about the stock exchange tanking - completely unware that their pension is linked to that.

Ain't surprised the people at the top are scared of making the call, 90% of the country seem to already be acting like brainless dickheads. If we're in this state when there's not actually a problem imagine it if anything happens to supply lines.

Grown ****ing adults needing bigger adults to hold their sodding hands. Tell us what to do pls pls pls. Don't ****ing buy 60 bags of pasta you daft twats and stay indoors unless you have to flipping leave. It's not hard is it.

Unfortunately this is the society we live in, but Remember, its only a minority of idiots that spoil it, most people like your self know how to act respectively

My boy was supposed to play in an inter schools Dodgeball competition today but it got cancelled.

So all the schools are open but they can't compete against each other.

Bizarre..

Nope. I know better than that. Nothing about political points in this circumstance. I'd say the same for any politician.

Having said that, there's probably some on here that will blindly support any given government/politician regardless of what they say. Works both ways I would say.

Very true! I do think we’re in for a rough ride. It feels like we’re at war. I’m waiting for someone to send me a rationing book.

The most bizarre CoronaVirus news I saw today, was by Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was giving advise, whilst feeding two donkeys a carrot in his kitchen. I wasn’t aware CV-19 gave you hallucinations!!
