No political discussion in this topic. That is complaining about a country, a politician, a party and/or its voters, etc

Possibly. We are in this very weird position where such a fine line has to be trod, everyone from government to the press to the broadcasters has to make people aware of this and make sure we all wash our hands and be cautious etc but also whilst making sure we don't panic at all and end up behaving like Australians.

Probably for unpopular opinions thread but so far I've think the vast majority have done a fantastic job.

Oh jesus must be 7 or 8 grounds now. I've shat in some right horrors including halfway up a mountain in Ecuador in a bog like the one in Shrek, only worse. Corp in Sheffield probably just as bad.

Allianz

Bramall lane (missed Vardy's goal)

Anfield

Amex

our ground

Oakwell

Turf Moor

Probably the worst I've done was Copenhagen away, everyone had obviously been on it all day in town and you could have like 1litre cups of beer at your seat, there was a full on sea of piss everywhere in the bogs in our block and the paper had been thrown around like streamers.

I'm supposed to spend the weekend in Paris visiting a friend.

We'll be going out, eating, bars, and doing touristy stuff.

Not sure whether it's safe or wise to go - what do we reckon? Serious answers please.... don't want to be over the top fearmongering but genuinely not sure if going now is a dumb idea.

What's Corolla virus? Something to do with old Toyotas?

I was slightly concerned about people taking it seriously, given our "toilet paper rampages" so adjusted it to old Toyotas :)

How is it any different to just being here and going to work tbf?

You don't see too many people washing their hands in there. Just make sure the old man is clean and don't touch anyone elses!lol

Toilets in football stadiums are a bomb site. People turn in to such ****ing animals.

Absolutely nothing worse than needing a shit at any point on an away day.

Basically might as well just kill yourself.

I had to have one in the East Stand once, genuinely worse than having one in the Market Tavern or in a betting shop in the late 90's.

Although nothing prepared me for some of the animals that turned up in the charity shield at Wembley. I had to go just before kick off and one of our supporters was taking a dump in one of the urinals claiming he was desperate.  He's shouting as well to the cubicles if they can chuck him some bog roll.

Could be a good thread that. Weirdest stuff you've seen at a City match. At the Sevilla CL home game I had a small split in my trousers and jumping up the stairs completely ripped them down to the ankle. Total disaster and the guy next to me kept asking why, every movement I lost more and on the penalty save just ripped them off Hogan style.

Greatest night ever watching the City and I still can't forget walking down the street in what looked like just a pair of denim underpants. Crows Nest barman after the game even offered me a pair of old trousers.

Getting the flight, being at an airport full of people from around the world, crowded trains and being in crowded public spaces in a major city full of tourists.

Maybe I'm just being over cautious......

Fair enough - they'll probably introduce hand washing stations etc all over the park.

My personal view is that it's worthwhile stocking up on a bit of extra stuff, without necessarily going mad. Every weekly shop i do I'm adding a bit of extra stuff to put to one side in case me, or anyone in the family needs to isolate for a bit.

Chris Whitty, the expert advising the government has already said we're likely about to move from the Containment to the Delay phase, and that in about 6 weeks time there will be pretty widespread community transmission. At that point, you can probably expect the government advice to move towards working from home (where possible), closing schools, and postponing large scale events.

I like to bulk cook, so will just do a bit more of that.

They are probably thinking that they can coincide the delay phase with Easter when lots of kids will already be off school, universities will be closed, so a reasonable proportion of people will already be planning to be off work.

Best way to make God laugh, plan your poos for a Newcastle / Southampton length away day.

When I did the legends stadium tour Steve Walsh was encouraging people to do a poo in the away changing room toilets and not to flush.

We're booked to spend just over a week in London over Easter, and we're thinking about not going. Don't really want to spend hours on the tube and in museums when we don't have to.

Worst case would be getting quarantined, that's what I would worry about.

Think of the peace and quiet! And full pay???

If I wasn't self-employed, I might almost go for that. Minus the inevitable death part.

To be fair, its only the start in this country, they are still trying and ultimately failing to control the spread.

What i do not understand is the big hoohaa about it, its all very strange, its either no worse than the flu as some are saying, in which case lots of people will get it regardless of what anyone does to stop the spread.

Or it is genuinely the end of civilization as we know it, we dont have a live counter for the flu or the common cold do we? why so much worry about this one?

Because no one has any immunity to this, so when it spreads it will do so more quickly and exponentially than the flu.

We are trying to delay the onset of the exponential curve and make it less steep, also known as 'flattening the curve' a known strategy in epidemics.

Even if it results in the same number of cases in the end, the pattern makes a significant difference. 1000 cases a day for 30 days, vs 20000 cases in one day + 300 cases for the other 29 days, both result in about 30000 cases total.

If it happens all at once, the limited hospital and ICU beds will overflow badly and you get a higher death rate due to strain on resources. Estimates are 15-20% of cases are severe, and of those severe cases 15-20% need ICU treatment. That's a lot of ICU beds! (This by the way is why Wuhan's death rate was much higher than elsewhere in China).

Whereas if you spread it out, the systems can absorb the impact evenly over time, and result in better treatment on average for all patients and therefore a reduced death rate.

We should just build loads of hospitals in a week like the Chinese did.

When its all died down, we can convert them all in to gaming arcades and adult soft-play areas and shooting ranges and mega-pubs.

My wife has bought me some fake corona from Aldi. It's called Castillo or something like that.

That's pretty much all I have to say on the subject and I would admit its of limited value. I never said it was going to be interesting though. And what do you mean you didn't ask?

Right, sod this, I'm off for a whisky'n'lemsip and a toblerone.

You are giving me the impression that you may have polished off said beer.
