We have this one guy in our office who is, to put it mildy, a dirty sod. I have observed him in the rest room and he does his business, often very messily - you don't want to follow him in there and doesn't wash his hands.

They’re printing money with this virus that’s for sure.

Can't make money if you've got no stock left to sell and aren't allowed to sell at above normal prices.

Bit weird that tbh mate. Why dont you set up a webcam? Then it'll be less obvious and you'll be able to collect the evidence.

Well, I don't mean I've actually watched him, but I've gone into the toilets and seen him come out of the cubicle and walk straight out. Cubicle then resembles the one in Trainspotting.....

My uncle and employees at his workplace have been given some hand sanitiser gel bottle at work.

Made in China by a company based in Italy lol

One of my clients orders specialised cable from china for their machinery.

At least they did, until they've been told not to until all this Corona stuff goes away

Eh, every year I assume you get a cold or  bug or two, any one of which could develop in to an RTI, pneumonia or bronchitis all of which could have dangerous complications for you if no treated.

Your 94% survival rate will go up because you're in a country with tidy nationalised health care at reasonable standards that's on high alert, you're on high alert and you'll be looking for the symptoms immediately and it'll be taken immensely seriously.

Plus, you're talking about a disease that's so far infected 32 out of some, what, 67+ million people in the country?

Being aware and mindful, okay, sensible. Any level of concern above that is probably just over reacting to hysteria tbqh.

So you type a load of bravado bollocks, downplaying the effects of this virus, then quickly realise some well thought of people on here are actually in the high risk group and spend the next few pages downplaying your own bollocks with yet more bollocks.

Cringe city.

I think it's a bit late for that seeing as 90% of what everyone buys from Ebay is from China

Alcohol is effective against enveloped viruses of which coronaviruses are one

Handwashing is generally more effective than hand gel at killing stuff. But obviously in a public place, handwashing might involve touching public restroom doors etc. so may not be better.

Working in a hospital I've never heard the thing about having to wash hands after using hand gel. Googling doesn't show much except someone being paranoid about the 0.001% of things that aren't killed. I don't think it's necessary.

Cool, i'll stick with the Guinness then.

Narh, cringe city is making up basically your own complete narrative and strawmaning someone to try and pick a fight.

Cringe city is trying to whip up Internet drama where there absolutely isn't any because you're, I assume, bored?

And mostly, cringe city is actually using the words "cringe city" without irony as an attempted put down.

But whatever makes you happy mate.

Reckon people will start making their own hand sanitiser gel with vodka soon. There's a recipe going round to make your own hand gel with surgical spirit, which has caused that to sell out at Boots as well.

And for those who still aren't worried about the virus itself, there's currently 2000 infected people waiting for a hospital bed in South Korea.

The NHS can't cope as it is. If it hits us in any significant numbers, there goes a huge chunk of lab testing and scanner capacity for starters. Operations get cancelled to free up beds, cancer diagnosis gets delayed, infected staff go off sick for weeks. Anyone going to A&E for unrelated reasons will wait even more hours to be seen, sitting alongside people who might be infected.

It's not quite as simple as it seems. Even if you think this is the same as seasonal flu (which it isn't, because lots of people have got immunity from that via flu jabs), we're not getting coronavirus instead of the flu, we're getting coronavirus on top on the flu.

Spot on

When we get to that point, I wonder how the NHS will prioritise.

NHS 111 have seen a sharp increase in calls because of this but the spokesman said people are calling for advice, NOT because they have symptoms.

FFS. People are on their phone all the time checking Facebook, Instagram and the like but they would rather clog up phone lines than check for advice on official internet sites.

Someone who suspects they have the symptoms might be behind you in the queue you selfish sods.

Taken from a post on the Evening standard today.

It sounds so ridiculous you just suspect it could be true.

Why aren’t we checking them at the airport ?? I had relative arrive back from Vietnam / Singapore last week and they were made to sit on the aircraft for 45 minutes to see if anyone coughed !! but no further checks

Some airlines are doing some really daft things.  My dad flew with Air India to the Punjab and before he was allowed to enter Punjab, he was made to cough and drop?  :dunno:

Folks keep harping on about that it is only a concern for the elderly or ones with an underlying respiratory illness, which is okay if you're fit and healthy. Problem comes with if you catch it, and then pass it on to your grandma or grandad or the asthmatic kid in the shop before you realise you actually have it yourself. Wouldn't be a very nice feeling.
