boots60 Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 Clubs will always elect for the best case scenario for themselves. Corona or not, self preservation will always be the key issue. Just look at the Jocks.

Yet relegation this season for anybody could trigger a collapse that a club simply doesn't recover from.
jammie82uk Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 6 positive tests from 3 clubs https://www.skysports.com/share/11991043 The Premier League has confirmed it has received six positive tests for coronavirus from three clubs after the first phase of mass testing. A total of 748 tests have been carried out over the weekend and it is unclear whether they include players, non-playing staff or a combination of both.
Super_horns Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 I guess they will have to push the start date back if teams cannot train.
fox in the sox Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 6 'players/staff' from the 3 clubs tested have positive tests from what I have read.

Guest Col city fan Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 This all depends who the 6 people are surely? They could be 6 back room staff from the same club?

I assume this is not a major problem at the moment - these people will self isolate and should not have been in close contact with others. More of a problem when matches start.

nnickn Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 Has we are constantly being told that lockdown decreases the risk, clubs that have had players breaking lockdown will be most at risk Can recall Everton, Villa Chelsea players being caught, but who is to say who others have not been caught?

Add Arsenal, Spuds and Wolves to that list.

They would not have come into contact with any one from their clubs in theory. The testing was done before training can start.

TiffToff88 Posted 19 May 2020 Posted 19 May 2020 Wouldn't surprise me if we're one of the affected clubs. Hasn't Fuchs spent the majority of the last 2 months in New York? The most infected city in the most infected country in the world.

Depends where he stayed in New York, many boroughs escaped unscathed, or had very small rates.

If we respect their right not to work on safety grounds, should they not be drop down to £2500 max per PCM like most people at home? as he said they have refused to take a pay cut, is it fair if they want it both ways??? No it's not fair. I have to begin to open up my business again next week, I have no choice else I am bankrupt. I have given folk the choice to return or remain on furlough. Come October I may have to let people go if they can not return. I can not subsidise people sadly without government support. But to be honest even the government support we are going to pay for at some point. The same should apply to any job, football included.
