Stepped up to the plate today and secured a clean sheet, despite not playing since December. Club Captain and led us to the Premier League title. Is it a coincidence that we didn't fall apart and the 19 year old left back played a blinder, or was it Big Wes providing leadership and balls to the team?

Should he stay in the side for the final two to help secure Champions League football?

If everyone who started today is fit there is no reason to change the team.

Wes didn't put a foot wrong, we also don't have any other senior options available if we want to stick with 3 at the back.

It's obviously a bit worrying that he has to play two games inside four days at 36 having not played competitively for months but he will have a week to prepare for United so hopefully he'll be fine.

For the record I'm fully on with him staying in the team, but the thought of him going up against Rashford a week on Sunday

It'll be like Rocky IV. And if nothing else, if we get an 80s movie training montage of Wes released on twitter in the next 10 days then who cares what the result is!

he’ll be a little bit sore in the morning! lol

It would be very harsh to drop him after that performance...

If he plays both games. The Man United game will be the 750th game of his professional career which is pretty incredible. There's few who play that many games.

If IF this man leads us to champions league qualification as his final act Leicester City captain, name the new stand after him.

Imagine the list of achievements as captain if he does. It’s already great but that would be the icing on the top.

If we've been lacking leadership than we sure as hell have missed Captain Morgan. He just made me feel a whole lot better back there calm and collected and making sure nothing gets by him! Awesome legend. Should be retired by now but he's hanging in long enough to get our younger backline unto speed. Yes we have him lubed up on Bengai and ready for the last two games.

I love the big man and along with with Bennett and Evans he made Sheffield United look like a pub team. But the thought of Son and Lucas running at him frightens me! The same for Rashford, Martial etc. in a week's time.

Those Man Utd forwards are not the same proposition as those Sheffield United forwards.

But we have little other choice, and Wes has shown in the past that he can make up for pace by positioning and guile.

He did nothing wrong yesterday but personally I don't think we should be playing 3 at the back with our suspensions and injuries. Let's go back to a 4-3-3 with Perez in the Maddison role and bring in Gray on the right hand side. Think the system gives us more flexibility especially out wide.

Weve secured European football which in itself is a huge achievement. In truth anything now is a bonus on top. That back 3 will be painfully taken apart by pace of which Spurs and more importantly United have.

I think a lot depends on how he recovers. Playing two intense 90 minutes in the space of three days, having barely played all season, coming up against Kane and Son, at the age of 36....is quite a lot to ask.

It might also be that Rodgers will prefer 4 at the back against Spurs. I got the feeling that he was determined to play 3 at the back against Sheff Utd to match them up, regardless of what injuries we had.

If Cags only had a one game ban then no but given he's out I don't see what choice we have.

I 10000% definitely wouldn't swap back to a 3 man midfield without Madders. I mean let's be clear, if our first choice 11 was available I'd go back to 433 in a heartbeat. But going back to a back four and three in the middle just means weakening our side, we don't have another midfielder good enough to provide the same impact the extra defender brings. Give me Wes over Praet, Mendy or Choudhury any day.

With what we have you stick to 352/3412/343 surely and that means he plays.

Having him play against United's pace fills me with nerves but the answer will be to have confidence and get at their back line. If Ndidi and Tielemans play like they did yesterday we'll completely dominate Pogba and Bruno who are talented footballers but absolute show ponies.

United's spine is made of jelly, you've got to actually attack them.
