@STUHILLyou clearly dislike Pearson no matter what you say, every post has some snide comment or back handed compliment.

Anyway, I'd love him back here as would a huge section of the fanbase and one things for sure, he'd restore pride, we wouldn't be letting 5 in at Brighton or going down.

Hes what we need but he won't come because Bristol are a more attractive proposition than us now. Ffs.

I've always looked at it as a bit of a meme and tongue in cheek having him come back here. But looking at it now, as a club what do we need? We need someone to come in and shake the place up, sort out the defence, get us organised, restore some pride and have us be competitive. IF we're going to look at a manager from the championship who is best suited for the job? He's doing a brilliant job at Bristol, cut the wage bill, put a squad together who can compete and they're flying. Would you rather have Scott Parker or Sean dyche? That's the callibure of manager we could attract. I think bring him back, we need to look at this season in isolation, we need to stay up, he might be the best man for the job.

He is genuinely my favourite manager since O'Neil, and that is only because that is when I was old enough to start supporting us.

If my comments have come off as a dislike for Big Nige, they have not meant to be. I just don't think he has done well since he left us and I also don't think he would be the right appointment now. I said he did a 'Great Job' for us and he was one of my favourites. Not sure what else people want :sweating:

Would have him back in a heartbeat. At least if we continued to be poor we’d get some great journalist interviews.

Saw a couple on you tube when he was at Leicester, one I remember was a journo who showed up to protect his mate who Pearson went after the previous week.

No such angst at Bristol City, the journos are all sh1t scared of him. 😂

He just let 5 in at Forest instead

A section of our fans would never accept him back due to their irrational hatred if him.

It is similar to Rodgers: previous success is totally disregarded to maintain a biased and vitriolic narrative.

It is the same mindset which turned on O'Neill after 10 games and could have robbed us of that great period.

But, haters gunna hate.

A number of people on here would like him back, that doesn’t equate to a huge section of the fan base. I don’t know anyone personally that would want him back.

Not seeing the hatred towards Pearson personally, quite the opposite. Seems that despite us having recent managers that incredibly won the Premier League and FA Cup, Big Nige still tops them for favourability. I think by most people not wanting him back here now, that is what is been interpreted as hatred. There may be one or two here who are overly strong with rejecting the idea of his return, but certainly not seeing any hatred. Extremely popular manager here with most if not not all.

Won 3 out of 14 games for Derby

Won 18 out of 56 for Leuven

Won 7 out of 22 for Watford

Those stats are pretty damning tbh. I wasn't aware he was actually that bad at Derby. (A team that I think still finished 7th that season). Also highly likely hed have been relegated at leuven and watford had they not pulled the trigger (Watford would have still probably been better off keeping him for the following season though). Furthermore we currently need a manager who will come in and have a pretty instant impact and that aint pearson. By the time he had everything how he liked it we'd be long back in the Championship.

He is at his absolute best when he is at the beginning of a project and has full control. I also think Steve Walsh and Craig Shakespeare were a huge part of his success with us, and both are off doing other things.

Great manager for us and took us on an incredible journey of success and undoubtedly had a huge role in building the squad that got us the Premier League title, however, not the right man for us now, and I genuinely think he is happy exactly where he is.

I hope so, and all the signs are that he is.

As supporters of a success-starved club, that since the early 1900's has had just four top-flight seasons in the late Seventies, we are also currently very happy to have him.

Standing in the pouring rain in randers town centre waiting for a police escort to the ground last season , the fans weren’t singing about Rogers or even raneiri. It was Pearson, says it all.

I look forward to Brendan the Ostrich comment
