If you click the blue ballot cycle text in the OS article it takes you to a frequently asked questions with all the ins and outs, get out of jail clauses from the clubs point of view.

I guess I'm resigned to paying £220 quid to keep hold of 4 seats for when normal football returns. I have no interest in attending games with reduced capacity and having to pay up to £55 quid or whatever it is to be in the main stand.

I guess the club need a way to raise a million quid or so really quickly lol

It certainly won’t be a nice experience going to a match day in a mostly empty stadium with all the Covid 19 wearing hi viz jobsworths telling you to walk one way (because Bat flu only transmits one way) , you can’t stand there, you can’t sing, keep your mask on etc.

It hasn’t gone away yet, it is purely the fact everywhere that’s open is shit scared so have introduced these procedures to keep it at bay, I’m guessing the ground will have a lot of lines and arrows all over the place, and you’ve got to stump up full match price for that.

I went to a customers house the other night to look at a job, she’s got a mask on in her house, but then asks me to wash my hands and use a disposable paper towel to dry them before showing me what she wants doing all the time going on about Bat flu and how she’s shielding and shitting herself stupid over it.

Well why did you call me then? The jobs could have waited a year to do, nothing is urgent in there. But the government has scared the country to death over this and its spilled over into businesses too, hence this nonsense.

Pretty shite that the club are asking fans to fork out during these times of financial instability when they're about to cash a £50m cheque.

The club do a lot of good for fans but they need telling how shameful this is.

Do we need £1m to £1.5m that badly? Scary if we do!

So, under the fairly likely scenario of no full-capacity matches in 20/21....

- The club gets about £1m from ST holders in exchange for nothing - apart from not losing ST long-term & entry into ballots for full-price tickets to matches in a half-empty stadium

- It risks a loss of good will among most of its ST holders.....apparently valued  at about 1/50 of a Ben Chilwell

Under the scenario of some full-capacity matches in 20/21....

- Those who feel safe enough attending will get their £70 fee back, but will have had to pay almost double for any matches attended with limited capacity (just about acceptable, this)

- But those who do not feel safe attending will get nothing for their fee, apart from the "privilege" of not being stripped of their season ticket due to vulnerabilities of age, health or whatever

At the very least, the £70 fee should be deducted from the next season ticket charge for a normal season (21/22 or whenever) or repaid to anyone who still doesn't feel safe, if Covid is still around

Trying to be fair.....the club will have taken a big financial hit and so will King Power, I presume (duty-free sales hard hit by Covid impact on the tourist industry).

But have they been THAT hard hit, given their starting wealth? Have they been as hard hit as a lot of fans will be due to lost jobs, loss of income etc?

If so, they could have explained why they were strapped for cash.....and, rather than squeeze ST holders, they could have requested donations. Some would have been cynical about it or too skint to donate, but others would've donated.

Do they get their £70 back?

i've not looked at it as I'm unlikely to go but plenty seem to be including the £70 in what it would cost them go to a few games.

Correct me if I'm wrong.....

IF (big IF) full-capacity matches resume in 20/21, the £70 gets set against this season's ST charge pro-rata, as I understand it.

So, if there are at least 2-3 full-capacity matches, then those who feel safe attending will effectively get the £70 back via the differential with full-price tickets.

Of course, that's no use to anyone if full-capacity matches do NOT resume (a distinct possibility) and, regardless, is no use to those who don't feel safe attending, as the £70 won't be set against 21/22, it seems.

I'm in almost but not quite the same boat as you, I suspect. I want to renew, but for reasons of health risk (heart condition) am unlikely to attend unless the risk is very low indeed.

I'd probably attend if Covid infection rates had fallen to very low levels, but not if they hadn't.  So, I'd be paying £70 to avoid losing future season tickets or in the hope that the Covid outlook is better than expected.

This is piss poor and doesn't sit right with me. £70 for something that's not even a raffle ticket.

I got £90 back as a pro rata ST refund which was great, but what was the point if they're asking for £70 of it back? Imagine how much money they'd save without dishing out all this tat like beanies and "supporter packs".

Anyone defending this because of the free stuff we get, I'd like to see where you draw the line.

You're basically being blackmailed into it with the threat of losing your ST if you don't shell out what is quite literally £70 for nothing. Interesting that the admin fee has gone up to £1.50 too, don't forget that lol

The club do handle things badly, but generally I thought that they were so much better than this.

So you end up paying the normal ST price for a third of the games... BARGAIN.

That’s why I’m encouraging people to get in contact with the club, however unlikely it may seem and it very well might not change anything but if enough of us send an email things might be looked at again

Fascinates me how there seems to be a small minority of people (on Twitter/FB) who are actively supporting the club's decision to do this.

I completely understand people who will decide to suck it up, but people who can't see this is nothing but an act of greediness genuinely shock me. It makes me wonder what else they'd put up with.

Take a look at the comments on the Union FS post on the matter. I just can’t fathom the idea folk think this is ok.

What’s this talk on admin fee increase?

£1.50 per transaction now then?

They can go and do one.

I never received the admin fee for any of my 3 away or one cup ticket I paid for even though the Arsenal ticket never even got sent out.

Money for old rope that bollocks.

As a family of four that’s £6 every time now. But let’s all bend over and take it for the snazzy scarfs and hats and clappers.

I know it will get reinvested, but it doesn't sit right with me when within a matter of hours of the club releasing the ticketing details, news breaks that they're selling a player for £50m+. They pretty much have every season ticket holder by the balls because football is like no other industry in terms of emotional attachment.

Some truly sad and pathetic comments on here. if i was Top and read them i say go fuuck yourselves and buggger off to the casino.

Is a small token commitment out of your next seasons seasoning ticket kitty in way of a deposit that will carry over that much to ask for?  The club are going through a uncertain phase also.

Some people have very short memories or due to the clubs continuous generosity feel very entitled.

But it doesn’t tho does it

There must be a fair chance that no fans attend this season. Especially if this corona kicks off again in the next few weeks. 23000x£70 of free money for the club. Nice.

 You serious?

That'll pay for the corner flags at Seagrave or the mince pies and Changs.

Fear porn and now turning on the owners are a Covid side effect?

Jesus how does that boot taste?

Vichai didn't have a dream to charge people who were shielding from Covid £70 to keep their season tickets without being able to go to the ground.

In Top we trust :scarf:

What if capacity is reduced for the whole 2020/21 season? What happens to my initial payment?

Your initial payment secures you the right to obtain entry to the ballot for match-by-match tickets while the stadium is at reduced capacity, and (subject to payment of any applicable balance) it also secures your Season Ticket for any games which are played in season 2020/21 with the stadium at full capacity. The initial payment is not refundable if no games are played at full-capacity in season 2020/21.

Stockholm syndrome has taken place. I wonder sometimes what the club could get away with in some people's eyes. Double the season ticket price? £5 admin charge on all ticket transactions? Changing the home shirt colour?

Remember, anything negative is hating on the owners, you ungrateful swines, even when it's explicitly not criticising the owners.

If nothing else, issues like this expose just how little understanding people like Bob have in the running of a football club.

Personally don’t see why members should be given any of the capacity. The only justification is because the club don’t want to lose the revenue from having a membership scheme.

Many people like myself pay for memberships just for the chance to get a season ticket, I was a season ticket holder for years prior but had to take a break due to personal reasons, and people grumble about increasing capacity 🙄

Sounds ridiculous.

If we don't renew our ST for (the potential opportunity to pay full price for tickets in) 2020/21 am I right to assume we are at risk of not being able to renew in 2021/22? :S

If I had an opportunity to buy 2 season tickets this season I would, this is why increased capacity is vital imo

Well done. You realise that this **** all to the club but a good wedge for normal folk, yet you are still on the wrong side of the argument, nice.
