Impressive. sounds like a lot of work for 96EUR mind!

Very simple online form to complete, took about 2 minutes :)  The emails to Expedia were pretty much copy and paste, much like their responses

A minor victory for me yesterday, Expedia have finally resolved my complaint. Last summer we booked a hotel which was advertised with a pool, but when we arrived it was out of use, and looked like it had been for months. I complained and they weren't interested, even though they are still advertising it the same. I eventually gave up with them and went through the European Commission complaints platform which was very easy, and they came back in 48 hours agreeing to the EUR 96 compensation I'd asked for.

These people purposefully make it difficult to complain in the hope we will give up, I came close but I'm glad I didn't now!

Well done for perseverance!
It probably wasn’t the compensation but the principle that what was advertised wasn’t given. I often book or buy things based on description and hate complaining but when it’s important to you it’s disappointing to have to resort to chasing customer services.

Well done, the ADR is a brilliant and easy service. If more of us stood up against these shysters, things may change. But in reality, it's the weak and lazy who don't know their rights/stand up for themselves who subsidise the insanely cheap travel prices for the rest of us. In conclusion, don't tell too many people about your win.....

Still can’t get my head around how the state of Oklahoma believes it ok to only pay Glynn Simmons $175k for wrongly incarcerating him for 48yrs, a total of $3,600  per year :nono:

Glad to see a fundraiser has already generated $326k for him so that he can live out some dreams.

I dare say behind the scenes lawyers are gearing up for a multi million $ law suite but sadly at 70 and having stage 4 liver cancer not sure he will get to see that. 😞

Sadly, it's Oklahoma, where the tree of law and order must be watered with the time and lives of the guilty and sometimes the innocent.

Miscarriages of justice are mostly just seen as a fair price for maintaining such a "law and order" system... and so folks like this poor guy end up paying.

Half an eye on Sunderland v Newcastle alongside the city match. The teams come out and the camera pans across the Newcastle end, not one phone out. If that was us our end it would be rammed full of drippy teenagers filming the scenes and p1ssing themselves. Is it our support in particular that attracts kids with loads of allergies or an all football thing

One thing I have noticed about the Newcastle fans is that they seem to have more than their fair share of morbidly obese supporters who are more than happy to go shirtless so long as the temperature is minus something

It's sad that initiatives like this are needed in this country, yet also a shame that there aren't enough of them available.

Good on him restores some sort of normal in this f****d up world

Not sure if this is the best place to post, but looking for some good podcasts recommendations.

Really looking to start moving in the new year - classic new year, new me, resolution. But if I’m going to walk, run, jog - I would like something really interesting to listen to.

What sort of topics would you prefer them to be about?

Anything really, sport and history are my main interests, but also enjoy a bit of true crime and anything that gets you thinking.

Newcastle singing “We’ll meet again” to Sunderland is brilliant.

There’s no way that our fragmented dullard fanbase would join en masse for anything like that now.

Got me thinking (along with the thread about the helicopter nobhead) how good our end was at Millwall in the League One season - pulling daft faces, waggling our hands and going "woah" every time they did "Milllllllll", and singing "It's so quiet at The Den" over and over any time they tried "No one likes us". Original and witty ways to deal with a fanbase like that.

If our current ST priority system allegedly rewards years and years of loyal away support, then why aren't our ends full of people who are up for stuff like that these days?

Coz they’re rammed full of drippy kids with their allergy sheets stapled to their heads trying to figure out if they’re on the left or the right to join in the ‘we’re the right side’ chant.

Being serious, you do raise a good point

High performance podcasts are good - for the guests rather than Jake Humphrey asking the same questions “what really is high performance to you?” X 10.

Plenty of sportspeople on there so take your pick, best one I’ve listened to was….Gordon Ramsay, he is one clever and astute f***er.

I always stick it on in the car.
