The stick he gets is way over the top, but that is nothing new. Been far from our worst player in the opening few games. Reid has been shocking in both, and at the back Souttar and McCarthy have both been worse vs County. Skipp in the middle also worse in both games. I’d argue Cullen was also worse in both games, he was very average vs Northampton, and awful on Saturday.

I don’t agree. BDCR was terrible against Northampton but he had an OK game at the weekend, unfortunately he was played out of position and as a result when he dropped deep to lay the ball off nobody was around to occupy that space.

Luke Thomas was targeted at the weekend and in the first half especially continually lost the ball. In the second half, he backed off the winger and let him put in a cross for their goal. He was terrible.

Steady on!! I played for them albeit 60 years ago. In those days Arthur Ball was our manager and we had gates of 8 or 9 if you counted the dogs!!!  :scarf:

Wonder if there are others with a possible drink problem? Would account for lack of fitness and attitude issues. RM sort it!!

Theres been a drinking culture at the club for years. Even since before the Premier League win.

I don’t mind players having a good time but the issue is far worse at Leicester than it is at other clubs of a comparable size. Not getting a handle on it one of the many reasons the club is in the mess it is in.

I can't believe we are still persisting with him. He hasn't learnt a thing since he broke through. His starting position is all wrong, he can't get decisions right, his right foot is non existent meaning he has to chop inside onto his left all the time, his body shape and positioning is all over the shop when he's one on one, he looks unfit and he cannot maintain concentration. I think he'd genuinely struggle in the National League North. Fair play to him for squeezing a life changing salary out of the club for so long. Stealing a living.

In summary you are supportive of him then.

Bobby wasn’t ok at the weekend, he really struggled. Peripheral. Missed an absolute sitter, got bullied by their centre back and would’ve been part culpable for a shocking goal if it wasn’t for the Notts County lad wearing Patson Daka 50p boots.

He'll  be ,like the last few seasons liable for a goal a game.Every team will target him, even at this level he'll  get exposed and thats without the CB's being all over the place .We'll  get what we deserve if the manager won't act on it .I would of thought he'll  try the loan signing soon or what's the point in coming .

He shouldn’t be anywhere near the team. Anyone that does defend him is blind, everything about his game is diabolical, he defensive positioning is terrible, he’s always leaving space for wingers to attack him and get in behind, he rarely blocks crosses, he’s uncomfortable on the ball and can’t seem to pass accurately enough down the wings.

He has a habit of coming inside, and runs into traffic. There’s no thought to what he’s doing, he’s constantly making up for errors, and when he does get up the pitch, his end product is rubbish. He also gets in Alves’s way, when Alves comes inside, he can’t offer an overlap to help him out. Notts could have been murdered down their right last weekend, but we didn’t pick up on the fact their full back just followed Alves every time he went inside, so it left gaping holes for Thomas to attack, but he never once did.

Thomas seems to play better when he used as a back up, he comes into the team and seems to have a 7/10… but if he gets a run of games, he ends up being horrible…. If you want to show any young footballer how not to be a full back, show them the weekends game. He was all over the place.

Ok but compared to Luke Thomas, did he do a couple of good things and have an impact on the game?

Ive not seen his chance back, but watching it alive I thought that Burns made a bit of a mess of it which meant BDCR didn’t have as much time as he should have had, but yeah should be scoring.

I genuinely wonder at what level he would objectively be a good player. I'm thinking national league North.

I tried yesterday to outline some kind of statistics or science behind what level he should be playing, rather than an arbitrary 'he's a league 1, 2 or national League level'

I asked AI to look at his alumni.

Calvin Bassey is the only one (apart from LT) who 'made it'. There's a couple (admiral muskawe?) who seem to be at league 2 level. Two have forged careers overseas - the leagues mentioned were in Thailand and a minor US League below the MLS. Two or three play in the national league. Others have dropped out altogether as there's no trace

I've thought for a while, there's a very real chance LT hasn't got a level. His destiny was to be one one of those that drop out of the game. But a freak injury crisis under Rodgers, no crowds in COVID (making games feel like practice games) and Jonny Evans (who could talk me through a game) stumbled LT to 20+ pl appearances and he's been played on the back of that PL reputation ever since.

I think as a kid, there was some initial raw talent. That in the earlier days was in show on occasion.

No doubt the development of him was shocking and he came through at the start of the Rodgers/Aiyawatt/Rudkin sabotage mission. By the time he got a loan, it was all wrong. We had been relegated and he needed to drop down to say L1, to get the benefit Barnes, Chilwell and KDH did. Instead he went to Sheff Utd in the PL who were a disaster. Then back here as the collapse was in full swing and double relegations later…

Ultimately he is a completely broken player now and has been a while. If there was some raw technical abilities in his younger days, they are long gone and his mentality is not of a professional sports person anyway. As @Paninistickerssays above, if we weren’t handing contracts out for fun, he might have dropped out of football by now. An early retirement after he does eventually leave us would not surprise me at all.

But all that doesn’t mean there was never some talent. There’s been players tipped as wonder kids (and I’m not for a second saying Thomas was ever that) who didn’t make it as ability was lost to poor discipline or mentality, or even just bad luck or timing.
