I wanted to wish you all, a very happy new year. 2020 has been tough on all of us, and 2021 doesn't promise to be much better but this forum has always been one of my escapes, i feel i made a few friends here and it keeps me going. I'm sure its the same for many others as well.

So no matter what 2021 throws at us, we can always retreat back here, have a laugh and a cry and carry on regardless. I truly wish you all the best that the year can offer.

Roll on 2021, can't get any worse.. can it .. 

 

Plans for tonight will be weird not going out and celebrating but myself and a few friends have set up a Discord call with music and old fashioned board games (digitally) and plenty of booze. Wont be the same but at least can see in the new year with company, which is something that has sadly been missing this year.

Completely agree with you that FT is a valuable escape.

Through the chance of personal circumstances, I'd ended up with a pretty isolated life even before Covid - and that will apply for many more now, I'm sure.

FT certainly provides good debate and good laughs much of the time - and valued, if distant connections.

 

Maybe I'm an over-optimistic daydreamer, but I'm hopeful that 2021 WILL be much better than 2020. The first few months might be rough, but I see a half-full glass for the remaining 6-8 months.

Hope that optimism is justified for most, if not all of us. :thumbup:

This time last year I was hoping 2020 would bring me the opportunity to visit my beloved Cape Town or Botswana again. Today I'm hopeful that in 2021 I'll just be able to leave the ****ing house.

one night of the year when I hate staying in. I missed it last year , with what I thought was the worst flu of my life, but might have been Covid and now I can't go out again tonight.

Times are going to be crap for awhile but hopefully the second half of 2021 will start to look much better as we all hope to return to normalcy.....and to fly over the pond to catch another game at the KP.

Funnily enough I hate going out on NYE. Night of the knobheads. Plus, NYE is always a sign that it's nearly time to go back to work and the end of holidays.

I'll be in bed by 10.30 with my cup of Horlicks ready for an early start tomorrow cleaning the car.

Tomorrow is the outside wash of the wife's car Deb. It needs a proper pre wash, decontamination, contact wash, clay bar, polish & wax.

 

Should hopefully keep me busy for another 8 hours with my music on so I don't need to interact with anyone else :thumbup:
