Easily. Full back is an area where we haven't really had a massive amount of talent, even in the best teams the club has ever had. Unlike a position like in goal where we've got a pretty incredible history of talent for a club our size.

No but I don't think he'd ask for that - the only way he's getting that at his age with injury record is in Saudi. They don't tend to go for free agents or pay big money to defenders.

Absolutely love him but really worried about his form

 

You can see it means a lot to him to captain the club but this season more and more his decision making at times and rash challenges are so out of character.

 

I hope it’s more that he’s trying to hard rather than his legs just deserting him

Been poor most of the season, but probably the worst individual performance of the season today his passing accuracy must have been in the single digits.

 

Such a shame that the injuries have finished him at this level when before his injuries he was right up there with the best attacking wingbacks in the Premier league.

Incredible the extremes of this place. Scroll up the page and he's our GOAT RB, he puts a few passes wrong against Stoke and he's finished apparently.

I know you are not allowed to criticise certain players on here.

 

but Ricardo is not the player he used to be some of it may be down to age or injuries but a lot of it is down to the manager insisting on him inverting into midfield which leaves him out of position when play is turned over and he no longer has the legs to get back in position.

 

This is not me having a go at Ricardo as he is one of the few likable players in the current squad.

He has been off it in a few games recently but he hasn't been massively off it at all

 

He was a literal game changer earlier in the season coming off the bench and was then very good in the games he was starting

He’s lost his pace, probably due to all of his injuries.

He did look particularly slow yesterday, but I'm not sure if that was his head going from all the misplaced passes. I love him, but we obviously can't rely on him to the extremes of 2023/24 in this league.

I have always said he is a Rolls Royce of a player at this level but he hasn’t looked himself over the past few games.  One of the problems yesterday was that he was meant to invert going forward but we were losing possession so easily at times that he was caught out of position and isn’t quick enough to get back any more.

Totally finished at this level, wins nothing in the air, nothing on the ground, can not pass and his legs are gone.

 

Should be leading by example as captain but either his body will not let him or he does not give a crap.
