Too nice to be a team captain

Come join the 21st century mate and leave those archaic notions behind.

He's cooked. He's been shit most the season, only time he wasn't was Oxford away.

Gives so many stupid fouls away and he's been lucky to not be sent off at least twice this season.

The state of full backs at our club are a joke really, all absolutely shite.

He might work again where Enzo played him. But as full back?  Sadly his best days are behind him, and hes still paid a decent amount as well, so ruthlessness needs to come ahead of emotions.  I always have a certain likeness as he has portrayed himself very well, with his interactions with fans, and at least looks like he gives a damn.

I've always had sympathy due to how it's happened but it's a perfect illustration of our situation that he's still here. Any ruthlessness at the club and he'd have been in Turkey 3 years ago.

We're probably stuck with him a little while longer because we only have one Aluko and Thomas is the far more egregious excuse of a footballer that needs replacing first, but he's done now, pound for pound what we get back isn't close to satisfactory.

Shake hands and let go. He's done.

The amount of players that we've had stay here for 5-7 years feels extraordinary. I haven't looked at other clubs but it feels like that we were lucky if anyone lasted 3 here when I was supporting us as a kid.

Felt like ****ing Nampalys Mendy was going to get a testimonial at one point.

Thought he played very well against Ipswich to be fair.

Sad to hear he's being talked of as "done". Haven't seen enough of him myself this season to properly comment.

It’s really sad to say but we can’t rely on him anymore and imperative we bring in a new RB in Jan.

We should use Riccy sparingly between now and the end of the season whether that be RB or CM.

Such a shame to see him a shell of his former self but injuries and age caught up with him.

Captain wise, we are really lacking leaders. I honestly have no idea who I’d give the armband too.

For me if we can get the Jordan James deal across the line then he should be the next captain.

Would he actually want to come here permanently? Irrespective of if we can afford it.

For some reason he seems to really love us. Fingers crossed!

I have no idea of what the loan to buy deal looks like but  have zero trust in Rudkin to have got it right.

Personally I think he would be nuts to join us if he doesn't have to.

For a young player, we represent a chance to become a club legend, coming from a low starting point, and he should be captain now…… need to cement his commitment now, long term solid block to build the next generation team……look at Madders, Drinkwater, Chilwell, none have kicked on (for different reasons) he could be the same….get it done

Yep. He’s  done

Shit Captain as well. Has absolutely no presence or authority. As bad as any of them right now, and past greatness means nothing.

Sad to see, really. A lovely footballer. At least he reached and achieved at the top level for a while unlike most of the garbage around him.

I only watched on the box today. But yeah I thought he looks about done. I was a big advocate of him staying as well after the season under Enzo and losing Vardy, he felt like the good honest pro that had been here a while and may get rhe club.

But today he could hardly run back. Left us dreadfully exposed at the back more than once. If there's any interest in him from Portugal or anything I'd be happy to move on and allow a youngster a run in the side.

Likeable bloke and been a good player for us when hes not been injured but he's finished now and his performances are as bad if not worse than the rest of the muck we have in our squad.
