FoxOnWheels Posted 20 January Posted 20 January Get him in the middle, legs have gone in terms of sprinting but on the ball he’s a lot better than Hamza and Skipp without doubt 3

Is it lack of fitness or lack of giving a shit? I see less desire and pride than a Sunday league team after a night on the lash. It's unprofessional and they're taking the piss
LeePhilpottsBaldSpot Posted 20 January Posted 20 January The best right back I've ever seen play for the club, but that player is just a memory now. It's sad to see him put in a performance like that. Can't really play at a good level any more, but obviously can't now play at all midweek after playing at a weekend. He's been paid handsomely but at the same time it's injuries he's suffered being a great pro for the club that have left him a shadow of his former self. 2
DAS Boot Posted 20 January Posted 20 January I’m not sure if he’s done or if under another manager he may return to some version of his former self. If it wasn’t for such a severe lack of options, he shouldn’t be near the first team squad. Very sad to see the decline.
splinterdream Posted 20 January Posted 20 January doesn't want to get injured and scupper a new contract with another club, can't blame him really

I don't think one player has improved under his leadership, but a good few have got worse. Totally agree, Jacob,Ricky, Monga Evan’s, fatawu have all deteriorated 1

Yep, noticed it in his post match interview at the weekend, first time I’ve ever seen him properly fvcked off and had to compose himself a few times before coming out with a diplomatic answer. 2

His attacking and defending stats for championship fbs was one of the best, early on in the season. Since then he's dropped off alarmingly just like the rest of team. He can definitely play better, and I think a better coach would get more out of him.

Must be looking around the changing room and seeing these seats once sat in by your Vardy’s, Maddison’s, Tielemans of the world now sat in by Ayew, Bobby Reid and Choudhury and kicking himself for not getting out sooner. 3 2

He always used to get wound up by officials, it was one of my favourite parts of him in his prime too. Ricky's looked ragged recently, sad to see. What a talented player he was before that last game before COVID, arguably best RB in the Prem in his prime.
Lad1966 Posted 20 January Posted 20 January The manager didn’t help his cause today. He could have replaced JJ with Page, but he choose to bring on Ricky against a team who are known to be physical and sadly he can’t cope with that. I still thing he’s got a role to play, but a half capable manager would be able to recognise when it’s best to play him.

Sadly he's not capable of playing 2 games a week anymore.

Not entirely shot, like Ayew, can still come in for half an hour, when needed. But to put him in for an hour against players in their prime....out manager is an utter fool.
Dan Posted 21 January Posted 21 January Would be sold by a serious club. I'm sure he'd have understood as well.

He looked pretty erratic but at least he could move. Our full backs and striker options are comfortably in the bottom three in this division. It's quite mad how quickly he's dropped off. He's been horrid all season.

I think he’d of done better in there than having to do recovery sprints every 5 mins at fullback, it’s almost like he doesn’t know he’s lost pace so h still give the winger so much room with his positioning but can’t get across the ground quick enough to deal with it

We used to buy players and improve them but if you look back over the last five or six years, how many players of ours have regressed? With the likes of Riccy P and Justin you can argue injuries derailed them but every player we've bought since the back end of Rodgers' time has rapidly become a worse player than the one we paid for. There is a malaise in the club that rubs off on the players. Unfortunately as the quality of player we've bought recently is of lower standard, the deterioration is more telling.
