I wasn't against the Bennett deal last season, he was just another body in a position that he would only play if we had injuries.

Chalobah seems the same kind of signing and with the benefit of Choudhury being able to go on loan and hopefully increase his value for a summer transfer. You only have to look at how much game time Hamza gets to realise Chalobah is just a body if injuries mount up. As long as it's just a loan and not a transfer I'm fine with it.

Just stick with Hamza, Chalobah is no better so I really do not see the point of this signing. And he isn't even attacking.....

Because Hamza's development is going nowhere with him on the bench.

I don't really rate Hamza but if Chalobah is just making up the numbers then why not just keep Hamza around? Unless Hamza has said he wants to play.

All seems a bit of a circus.

I would imagine he's made it clear he wants to play.

I get that, but this signing is to our determent... we are happy to let a player go, in a position where we are currently short, and bring in a player who probably is no better. It is a completely pointless...

He’s a player whose only season of note was 8 years ago in the Championship, seems exactly a case of bringing a player in for the sake of it which Brendan said we wouldn’t do.

Fresh start and better players may get something useful out of him and for me he’s better than Choudhury, not hard tho.

He's less defensive minded than Choudhury, but he can't play in advanced positions like Praet can.

Surely there must have been better options.

All points to an underwhelming second half of the season if he signs.

Why are we doing this. Capoue surely is a better option from Watford if he’s still there

edit: he’s gone

Surely this is a wind up? I've spoken to 2 Watford fans this morning with both saying he's barely championship standard.

Apparently trouble in the dressing room too. This is about to be an absolutely abysmal signing.

I agree with a poster who claimed if only backup for this guy then why not entertain Matty James, who's also playing at the same level. Astounded really we are chasing down a non-starter in the championship on deadline day whilst the team is woefully short in attacking options. If we end up slipping down the table and out the european spots then I dont see this one being as acceptable as last years.

Why? lol

Normally players don't tweet about current team mates and may stay off of social media if they are trying to tie up a move to a club until it is done. Obviously I may be clutching at straws a tiny bit...
