It was always going to be played on the Wednesday with them playing the Sunday before.

I'm sure it will make no difference to our thinking.

Won’t go ahead I don’t think, they’re planning mass protests at every home game. They will end up being docked home points I think if they carry it on.

Hopefully we'll get the 3 points with out having to kick a ball :)

There’s a chance, they disrupt another home game and they may not have a choice, with the season nearing the end and the Euro’s on the way there is not much room for re-arranging

I hope it's cancelled, This would give us a chance to give the players a decent rest before the Final.

It was supposed to be played after the final so why was it switched. Could it have been switched to help Chelsea. ?

It was always scheduled for next week. Originally Tuesday.

As above but also, Chelsea play after us. So if anything we have a mini "advantage".

May as well send the reserves, it'll be a minor miracle if it gets played, at the very least at the advertised kick-off time, with the planned disruption (which I'm completely in favour of, for what it's worth, so long as nobody gets hurt... well they can chuck a few more beer bottles Souness' way if they like but nothing more drastic). lol

"Best case" is kick off gets delayed multiple hours and our recovery time suffers accordingly. Worst case is a wasted journey and days we could have spent drilling for the final burnt on a game that then takes place after the fact, if at all.

Postpone the cup final till after the season... like it should be.

You are right. Teams should be afforded at least 1 Week to get ready for the Final.

Why isn’t the cup final after the season has been finished? It is usually? Is it because of the international competition?

No chance United will let this be cancelled. They'll take measures to ensure it, like police escorts for the coach and closing off access to the stadium on surrounding streets

It’s due to the shortened season and the Euros. Having it within the season allows for the Premier League to carry on around it.

If fans want to cause trouble, and enough are in support, very little is going to stop them from doing so.

Playoffs are the weekend after the last PL games and then you've got the Euros shortly after so guessing they didn't have any other weekend available.

15th Cup Final / 22nd Pl Final Games / 29th Playoffs

Seeing the "security" at the weekend more likely to be Kev and Big Dave from G4S rocking up to the fire door for £15 an hour.

Considering the video that’s just been released I think you’ll find it will be tough to stop them...

They even made this mistake at the last World Cup final. Look at the fixtures and the travel involved for France vs Croatia - it was completely unfair on Croatia - their knock out games were gruelling, all going to extra time and two were decided by penalties.

France were based in Moscow and played their Belgium semi in St.Petersburg; a day before Croatia beat us. Croatia were based in St.Petersberg and their semi was in Moscow. So all France had to do was fly back to base and rest up from the 10th to the final which was on the 15th - Croatia had to play England on the 11th in Moscow, and fly back to base in St.Petersburg to prepare for the final ... in Moscow!

Didn't help they had to play against Ngolo Kante in his prime either, but if you want the best game in world football to be as best quality as possible, the players have to be in best condition - the world would've been fine waiting another week for a world cup final, it'd only build anticipation imo

Anywho ... :sweating:

Fully support the Man U fans protest over their owners behaviour, although not condoning the unnecessary violence or 'attempted murder' of Souness.

The Premier League should issue a statement prior to our game that if they disrupt it and it can't be played, Man U automatically forfeit the match and we're awarded the points.

It's win win, the protest achieves its desired ambition and we get the 3 points

If that happens then we won’t lose ground on Liverpool who I would assume also get +3. Problem would be raised by West Ham and Spurs though no doubt. Would be a legal nightmare.
