Would be marvellous news if The FA grew a pair of balls and deducted Man Utd 3/6 points for failing to fulfil a fixture, also failing to control their fans... :beer:

This is hugely helpful to us

How is it? The only beneficiaries are Liverpool. They now have a much better chance of playing either a weakened or a knackered Man Utd and if they win then we are bang in trouble for Top 4.

I see what you are saying, after Man Utd, they have a load of teams with nothing to play for. Still in our hands though.  :scarf:

If they win on Saturday and then beat Man Utd, I cannot believe they'd fail to capitalise on such a huge gift. In which case we need 7 points.

Back to back wins in the league would go a long way to that....

Let’s be honest, Man U will play a stronger side against liverpool than us. They’ve already upset their fans enough!  Man U fans will be content to lose to us and beat liverpool to ensure they are less likely to make top four

They play Sunday Tuesday Thursday.

They will prioritise winning two games over winning one, particularly when one of those two is a hugely significant game for them.

They will play Thursday Saturday Tuesday Thursday. With the first game in Rome.

Nope. Villa on the Sunday hasn’t been rearranged as far as I can see?

The way I see it is that it gives us a better chance of beating Man Utd, but also a better chance of Liverpool beating Man Utd. All depends on what level they rotate against us.

Also an extra 24 hrs recovery for the FA cup final compared to Chelsea.

We have an extra day's rest before Chelsea and a good likelihood that we'll play a severely rotated United.

There's no way Ole favours the game against us over the game against Liverpool. If Liverpool lose it basically ends their season, he'll be extremely keen for that, whole club will given how pissed off their fans are currently.

because a Man Utd team of some sorts will play 50 hours before playing us, and I think recovery times are hugely important at elite level. We get three days off after playing Toon, they get one day off after playing Villa. Maximum points Liverpool can get is 69. We're on 63. If we can beat Newcastle and Man United we're on 69 with 2 games to go. I think that helps.

Shouldn't matter anyway. We beat Newcastle and Liverpool will need a small miracle to catch us.

It's two of us, Chelsea, West Ham. I'll be fvcking amazed if Liverpool or Tottenham get in.

Like Middlesbrough was deducted 3 points for failing to complete a fixture, how ironic!

You're right.. Didn't realise that. Still can't stand mid week matches though. Oh well.

If any of their games get postponed again by knucklehead protesters going too far the PL should force them to forfeit and award their opponents the 3 points.

...would be tempting to wear yellow and green and invade Old Trafford on Tuesday 11th 😜

C'mon Ole! Play the kids. Save the men to beat up Liverpool. Deny them the Champions League!

Even with the horrible fixture congestion Man U are in a great position. Top 4 can be achieved without taking another point. 4 goal lead in the Europa tie. Easy to say if Man U fans want to win 2 games for the rest of the season it's Liverpool and the Cup Final. Just avoid being 4-0'd on Thursday.

I'd like to think that any right minded individual involved with Man U would rather we were top 4 than Liverpool. But I don't trust OSG to stand up against the owners at Man U. No doubt he is under strict instructions to beat us and roll over for Liverpool. It's what Glazer would want, because it suits his future ESL plan (they hate us, the rich 6).

The fact that we will beat them anyway probably hasn't occurred to them.

We couldnt beat a 10 men crappy southampton squad. The kids will be ready to go wanting to impress which could be a bad thing....or they get spanked 10 nil

If their fans protest our fixture, as expected and it gets postponed... it could severely screw us over. We don’t want any disadvantages going into the big games after.

I can see it now. We’ll end up with the game squeezed on the Friday before the final game and it will just be a tough luck situation.

man us reserves are better than ours and we’ll get 7 injuries

Scoring against Chelsea is going to be tough. That defence is rock solid. Unfortunately.
