Taking a stand on behalf of all the smaller teams?  Typical deluded self interested drivel. Most of these "fans protests" are simply a smokescreen to try and avoid points deductions etc.  Oooh look at us, we had nothing to do with it, it was the horrible owners, boohoo. in fact we are so good that we are standing up for the small guys. Vomit inducing.

Fine, protest peacefully against ESL and what their clubs did, but if anyone tries to seriously stop games, threatens opponents team buses or conduct themselves in any sort of violent/threatening way they should be arrested and banned from attending all football grounds for a minimum of 3 years. If the clubs cannot control their "fans" then immediate points deductions (separate from any punishment likely to be dished out for next season)

Some also seem to suggest there will be further protests at their next home game, against....  oh

Man Utd have nothing to play for in the league, hopefully they'll just play their u23's vs us and go full strength vs Liverpool.

I'd think that Man U would rather have us in CL than Liverpool so that makes sense.

Solskjaer needs a trophy and top 4 to keep going and keep Man Utd fans on side.

Assuming they don’t fall of a cliff and **** up against Roma, there objective is simple.

Beat Villa and all but secure a CL spot for next season.

Then it’s all about resting players for the Europa League Final.

As many have said on here 2nd, 3rd it doesn’t matter.

Id expect a close to full strength team tonight, with players coming off when the game is secure and Full strength against Villa - then rest up for the final.

Plenty of the Man Utd fans now trying to create a sense of injustice in their protestations that got their fixtures delayed/moved, like they were acting for the good of football

Pisses me right off, all the banners were about Glazers Out, not some altruistic higher cause.

Case in point

They'll be claiming it was to prevent global warming and create world peace next.

Scoring against Chelsea is going to be tough. That defence is rock solid. Unfortunately.

Yes that thought has crossed my mind, as long as we are solid at the back it only needs one or two moments tho.

How is it? The only beneficiaries are Liverpool. They now have a much better chance of playing either a weakened or a knackered Man Utd and if they win then we are bang in trouble for Top 4.

It benefits us, 1, we play tonight Man U play Sunday and 2 we play Tuesday Chelsea play Wednesday, how can this not be a positive?

I was referring to the Liverpool game. That is the fixture that stands between them being in the top 4 picture or not and Man Utd having to play 3 games in 5 days makes that a lot easier for Liverpool.

If we win tonight and win on Tuesday, there is still business to be done if Utd cannot muster up a performance and result vs Liverpool.

We will finish Top 4 if that happens. I can guarantee you that now.

""One of them might not be happy because I can play a full team maybe in one, and the next 11 in the other,” said Solskjaer. "If I’m going to look after the players, I'm going to make some decisions. We cannot risk injury for players and that's too much of an injury risk."

This suggest to me that he his planning on making changes in one game, rather than two (Villa and Liverpool). Surely if he's choosing one to play the second string it has to be us.

If we could not only win tonight but win by a margin, GD might be unbridgeable for Liverpool.

obvs would take a scabby 1-0 tonight if offered

Our game just looks the obvious one as Man Utd could still play the first XI Thu-Sun-Thu and back to normal.

I really hope Man Utd beat Villa on Sunday as that will take them to 70pts with only West Ham being able to catch them outside the top four on points and a current inferior GD of 18 goals. 3pts versus Villa just makes life so much easier for Man Utd and thus far more likely to rest players against us.

Ours looks the most likely game for Man Utd to rotate against. They were pretty much full strength against Roma last night and are likely to go full strength against Villa on Sunday. Really can't see them going full strength for the 3rd game in 5 days and if they do they'll be knackered come Tuesday.

If Man Utd had to rotate against us or Liverpool why do people feel he'll put out his weakest side against us and not his biggest historical rival? We're also the nearest rival in the league.

Its not so clear cut. They went strong yesterday v Roma (Which was bizarre) they may field a weakened side v Villa and go strong as possible v us and Pool. This also makes little sense, as you want to go strong where you are most likely to win points, i.e.; Villa.

What happens in our game is largely moot, and Ole is a Red, so he knows the merit is both beating Pool and keeping them outside the CL places. So who knows?

I agree. Can't see them resting players for the Villa game. They'll want to make sure of the points on the board asap, I reckon. Either way, we'll likely be facing either an under-strength side or a tired one.

It's not that simple. They play Villa 2 days before us, as well. If they only rest players vs Liverpool, then we'll be facing a side that played 2 days before, which I would take. That is unless they rest players vs Villa, as well, but they've got no real reason to do that, and that would mean playing an under-strength team in 2 games, when they could just do that in one - our game.

I hope you're right. We could be second then after the next two games which would be good for us psychologically going into those last games.

Just reading your last post again and I'm not sure what you meant. Surely, if Liverpool are their biggest historical rival, then you'd expect them to want to be as strong as possible for that match, wouldn't you?

How would their fans react if let’s say they beat Villa and unfortunately you guys or draw but lose to Liverpool - as commented above the bitter rivals?

The fans would rather lose one of the other games and beat Liverpool I feel at any cost.

we must win today bag the 3 points and then watch all the chips fall. Re assess the situation then. Atleast we can then go into the manu game high on confidence regardless of their starting lineup. Foxes are fearless!

But he may also play weak against Liverpool. When the game was postponed, that was what I feared, but at least we are also playing Man Utd. Better if they had played full strength against Liverpool already as by the time they play us he would want to rest his players for bigger games.
