First season would have been decent stats: 8 goals, 4 assists.

This season was awful though, James Justin had 2 goals 1 assist, despite playing mainly LWB / LCB and missing half the season through injury. Jonny Evans got 2 goals, 2 assists!

Perez does offer qualities other than attacking ones, but in that regard he's no Shinji Okazaki.

Anyway you don't need to persuade me, he's been massively unimpressive. It's funny because in his first pre-season for us he looked electric and that he was going to be a serious addition to the team, but it's just never happened for him. He's not even gone on one of his famous purple patches that he used to do at Newcastle. Not yet anyway, and I don't really see it happening.

But some of this could have been said about Iheanacho too. Nacho had good moments in the past, but after that penalty miss and dog turd performance away to Palace he looked finished. He ended up as a late contender for our player of the season, which is some turnaround! I actually think we might see toward the end of the upcoming season that our first team is Edouard and Nacho with Vardy coming off the bench.

I think this sums him up, he’s a managers nightmare. He has the ability and quality but under pressure can’t deliver.

That’s why his most impressive moments come when he can just enjoy himself (pre-season, Southampton 9-0, sheffield u) it’s no coincidence he bangs them in when he’s not nervous.

I don’t think even the biggest optimist truly believed he’d bury that chance against Chelsea.  If we were 4-0 up, we’d have been seeing the fingers in the ears

.....I think everyone expected him to have at least hit the target!!!

What is this sourcery

Got a very good first touch, that is what's missing from Senior man's game. A lot of Edouards game is similar to Iheanacho when he gets a chance in the box as both very good finishers and calculated but that first touch will be a huge asset.

Kelechi's first touch is amazing at times, not sure I agree here.

I’ve seen a few, and it’s awesome. I tip my hat to anyone who can fit a bit of the stone roses into the terrace. Unreal.

That chant's well cool. If/when he's signed, I hope we get the rights to use it too!

I've seen him a few times this season and I haven't been impressed tbh. So I'm relieved to read he's not been at his best. Hopefully BR knows how to get the best out of him.

Think that's the frustrating thing with Kel. At times his touch is sublime and other times it's it bounces of him like you've kicked a ball against a garden shed.

Very erratic. At times it's on the money and others it's horrible, Rodgers loves to make reference to it. I don't think it's a real problem with Iheanacho as it adds to his unpredictability but at the same time a player having a consistenly good first touch is handy, I think that close control is Edouard's best asset.

“At times” is the issue though, sometimes it is unreal, but other times it’s horrific

It really annoyed me in the Spurs game because multiple times he was running with the ball on a break, he would take 3 good touches and then one where he seems to have just poked it with his toe too far away from himself

It not just his touch, its Kel in general. He's either mustard or sh*te

His first touch isn't the issue though, it's the second, third and fourth largely.

Looking at that YT vid, Edouard is a cool headed finisher. I like that. I hope it's something he can do in the Premier League too where, it has to be said, the defending will be of higher quality.

Looks like he has a bit of the Berbatov about him looking at that vid.

So are we going into next season with Odsonne and the Seniorman as our two main men with Vards as an option? If we can get 15 goals ish out of Kelechi and Edouard we'll be on our way.

We're on our way. On our way!

To the 15 goals we're on our way.

Odsonne and Kell in attack

Jamie Vardy will be back

Pack your bags coz Leicester's on their way :scarf:

Vardy will still be a guaranteed starter start of next season imo. He will get the chance to prove he's not finished.

I don't get why everyone thinks Vards is finished. It's not like he lost his pace or stamina. It's a mental thing not physical. He never looks exhausted compared to younger players, sometimes he looks better than them. IMO Vardy will be back to his old self in the next season.
