Aguero and his penalty v Chelsea was a big moment for us as it turned out.

It has to immediately lead to a goal, it hit his hand, he passed it off and they scored. I mean how can it be much more immediate?

Can't really grumble after the FA cup final and us winning it from almost an identical situation...

At the start of the season I would have bitten the hand that offered me 5th place and the FA Cup. Yes it’s disappointing being in the top 4 for soo long and needed to only win our last game. But let’s be realistic look at revenues and squads, yes we can compete with our first 11 but the squad isn’t deep enough to compete. Top 4 would have been an incredible season but 5th and FA cup winner if still fantastic.

Villa did the job we wanted them to do and going ahead twice we didn’t really know how to see the game out and played some poor stuff once we went ahead.

Make no mistake we should never have been caught this season or last with the points we were ahead.

We couldn’t see it over the line for whatever reason.

They have Blew the best 2 chances of qualifying for the CL

Chelsea Liverpool Man C and Man U will be stronger

CL qualification will be harder from now on.

Europa League is the best we are prob going to achieve

Have to put most of the blame on Brendon. Why would you even consider putting Ndidi as centre back when you know what he's capable of in midfield.

You could argue that it has been his continuous bizarre selections, formations, round pegs in square holes and inept substitutions that has got us in this position for weeks now. We've been looking poor and usually only getting points following the individual skills and attributes of certain players like Iheanacho who, incidentally, was only played by the manager when he absolutely had to.

If you look at the trend, we've looked terrible for ages.. decent short spells here and there.. a wonder strike. Other than that, we're fecking crap.. probably about 50% of the standard we were playing at first half of season

We were basically like this when we won the league :) we got a lot of luck in winning games is the only difference

The usual suspects will wriggle their way out of this and come out with the old chestnuts:

We had a go

It was a great season anyway

Spurs were up for it

Etc blah di blah

The reality is we’ve even blown it on the last day

Until we spend nothing of 120million we will always fall at the last hurdle the squad isn't strong enough.

That said no manager should ever lose to a Ryan Mason team

Nothing to do with depth. If we hadn't had a penalty our only shots have been from about 30 yards. Its been absolutley shocking. We haven't tried to win it. We've tried to nick it.

Weve barely laid a glove on them in truth. Our second pen was one of the biggest dives you'll see.

Were not far off. Fantastic defence and midfield. Attacking options are relegation material though
