I’d take anything around the £45-50 million mark and go all out for Locatelli who we’ve admired for a long time and now possibly missed the boat on with how he’s played in the Euros so far, he will now be well on everyone’s radar.

Completely different type of player. Locatelli is a deep lying midfielder which is what Tielemans and Soumare will do, also KDH. If we sell Maddison we need another number 10. Anyway, he's not going anywhere.

Maddison would be hard to replace.  I think he is a cracking player.  He is one of several excellent English midfielders; I have not known England have so many excellent players in more forward thinking positions. To my mind, he is behind Grealish and Foden who are pure class and Mount (this may have been different but for Maddison's injuries. We are not going to sign any of those three .  There is a need to have some English players.  Selling Maddison would be a risk; in my view we should keep him as one of our top players.  Replacing him would, I believe, would be more difficult than many seem to think.

Grealish, Mount and Foden are much better than him, attitude wise especially. Replacing will be a lot easier than you think, there's enough talented attacking midfielders in the market. No doubt about his capabilities and talent, but IMO this is the best we can get out him. If the rumors are true (which they're not of course) for £70m I would drive him there myself.

He has a continuous problem with his groin/hips.

His walking posture / running body movements don't look good.

He's not been the same player for 5 months and counting.

He can't last a game beyond 70 minutes.

I don't want him to go, but if Arsenal give us £70,000,000 I would drive him to London with the music of his choice played very loud.

If your analysis is correct then his value is nowt not 70 million.

Think you meant 'chronic' mate. Not a huge difference I suppose.

The audacity that they’d tried to sign one of our players is astonishing

Let them try.

we tried to sign a ( at the time) highly valued  winger with huge potential from Barcelona.  We didn’t get him of course.

I’d buy some of his Boohoo Man ‘drip’

Surely we are not selling a first team player to a side who have finished mid-table in the last two years. Keep this team together and add to it. Just for one summer. Let’s see where it takes us.

There seems to be a bit too much noise behind this to just dismiss it (ignoring Indy Kalia and his rambles). Teams don’t consider bidding unless they think the player may want to come. That’s what disappoints me the most. I’d be very disappointed if we lost him to Arsenal. Yes, massive club but they’re shit at the moment. He’s only 24 and will get better. Just like Youri, Barnes, Soy and Fofana, I want a few more years out of them. Stay Madders.

I disagree, as far as I can tell it’s some random account that tweets in Arabic, football.london and sportsmail which are notoriously terrible. Ornstien is normally all over any Arsenal news if he says it then I’d start believing it.

I’d put good money on him not moving, certainly not to Arsenal.

The truth is you just don't replace a player of Madders quality very easily. If he wants to leave then fair enough but otherwise no deal.

Lets hope that our medical team can get his hip problem fixed.

We are not the same quality when Madders is out.

yep it all comes from the AFC Bell twitter account, who took a punt on calling the Partey transfer early last summer but didn't get much else right. The likely truth is Arsenal have got a long "shortlist" of midfielders as they haven't got a clue who would actually want to join them

I'd sell him if the price is right though I agree, selling to Aresenal isn't exactly a step foward. But I also look at the past 2 seasons where they really needed him to show up with CL qualification on the line and both seasons he was nowhere to be found at the end.  That to me makes him expendable - for the right price.

Do not want to quote anyone in particular but we have some proper muppet fans on here.

65m and I'd sell.

Not sure I'd even replace him like for like either. Buy an out and out right winger and another winger.

He was injured the season before last.

He was coming back from injury last season.

Bit harsh to suggest he didn’t show up when he had genuine reason not to.

So sell Maddison, don’t replace him then sign a RW who we needed anyway, even with Maddison in the side and then another RW who won’t even play?
