Quote me were I said he was better, I was merely to pointing out his stats stack up against 3 of the brightest English midfield talents in the country.

If Maddison was fully fit all season he would have made the squad in my view.

Probably be in the Champions league as well. That's how important he is to our club.

My two penneth, he is still on the naughty step for me and if we had to sell one for silly money this season and he was an option, I'd take it.

Still hope he could stay and fulfill his potential but there are definitely question marks and a short term option of coutinho abnd an up and comer could propel us even more. (Or if coutinhois not really an option, with our recent record in the transfer market, and with Rodgers blessing I would trust them.

Probably paper talk but these were my gut feelings.

One of the funniest stories you’ll see this summer. The only way this deal happens is if we feel he’s completely crocked like drinkwater. Won’t happen though. They can have Perez like £5m though, he’s about their level I think.

Catch 22 with madders. He had a first great season amd settled right in and played some great inter linking play through midfield and down outside. He knew he was pushing for England and got his chance.

He's had a couple of ball breakers with that casino malarki and the team party during lockdown (which put the nail in the coffin as far as Southgate was concerned).

This season he's been injured. If it's as bad as some say then he shouldn't be playing at all. If pain injections etc can help free his movement to where it should be then great.

Madders has been so influential in games even when he's 75% fit, whether it's a grass grazing ball to vardy for the back of the net or his free kicks.

I used to put him first with any standing ball situation but after the first season I found myself wanting Tielemans to take corners and free kicks into the box for our defenders to latch on to. Madders just doesn't get enough back spin like Tielemans does to hold the ball up in the air.

If its true that Arsenal bid £70m last summer then madders you'd have thought would've had a hand in that.

To sum madders season up, he's not been 100% and fair play to him for that and the extra work/treatment he's probably gone through. On the flip sip he's let it slip massively and particularly since Xmas time he's shown a side to him that he doesn't really give a toss. His tracking back has been awful and he's only been running faster and with more energy going forward.

One things for sure, he's gonna have to have a top season this season if he wants that big money move next year

Why are people rattling on about the casino incident. He’d been sent home injured, Southgate didn’t seem that upset by it and it had nothing to do with the club.

Some people just looking for anything to slate him.

If true, then Southgate is a hypocrite. Compared to the antics of Foden (and arguably Maguire), Maddison’s misdemeanours pale into insignificance.

Just swap Maddison for ziyech plus cash for us. I'd love that. Maddison is very and i mean very fairly criticizable for his actions both on the pitch and off it (like causing a party that derailed our season) and extreme injury issues, and inconsistent form.

I'm really unsure what that actually means?

Anyway, I've been vocal about his stupidity attending the party. Each player that attended was idiotic, we'll never know how that affected how the season eventually turned out. I think blaming Maddison for his own injuries is pretty ridiculous though.

£70m for Maddison seems ridiculous. Surely that can't be true.

Willock has impressed, granted it's been over a short period of time at Newcastle, I'd have him and Saka. If we get £70m for Maddison, we'll keep up our recent record of taking 'big' clubs to the cleaners on transfers.

Weren’t United sniffing around for him for a long time?

Chelsea would money not an issue. We will never be a top four club while we are still acting as a feeder club for the top four

I agree. Don't think we've any chance of £70m cash for Madders either.

I know.  This is silly off season when discussing transfers.  Starts getting more reliable beginning of July

I’d take anything around the £45-50 million mark and go all out for Locatelli who we’ve admired for a long time and now possibly missed the boat on with how he’s played in the Euros so far, he will now be well on everyone’s radar.
