well I wasn’t comparing the  players exactly but the stats- Maddison gives us exactly what we need from someone in his position- goals and assists.  Tielemans for all his string pulling wouldn’t have the value without goals and assists. Maddison plays a vital contribution and it’s madness to want him gone.

If you are comparing stats then you have to compare the positions of the individual players.

its not complicated to understand that ANY Midfielder is  going to be valued  the more they are contributing goals and assists yet acknowledge they play different roles is it?

Rodgers will have dealt with something similar with Sterling (albeit he was younger), but this really doesn't reflect well on his maturity. Being a player-player is not what the club wants either. I'm sure he'll have been given a warning before this too.
