I read some posts on here and Maddison is already a washed up has been, sometimes I think some of our fans are turning into self entitled football supporters, like Arsenal, Spurs et al.  Although these will be the same people who'll knock one out if he goes on a good run of form.  I just wish sometimes the criticism can be a bit more measured, he's not been at his best, but that is due to injuries and therefore a dip in confidence.

Strangely they can rubbish him and then declare he is worth 70  million in the same post.

Prefer Perez

I love how loads on here, including the player himself said he's not a winger and his best position is behind the strikers. He then gets about 15 games in that role in the 2nd half of last season and scores 1 goal and 1 assist 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Nobody is gonna give us the money the club would demand for him. There's so much better value out there for superior players.

Which is why this whole thread is just a mass wank.  The way Maddison has played since the middle of last season Arsenal probably wouldn't buy him for a sack 'o nuts.

Exactly. We've just gotta hope he somehow wakes up and realises he's a premier league footballer at some point

Ffs Maddison hasn t been 100% Match fit for over a year, it will take him Another few months to fully get into the tact & pace of the game.I

If He doesn't have Another relapse

Personally I would rather see Praet/KDH, or maybe Tielemans take presently Maddisons position ,und bring him on as a sub...

Ricardo is only just re- finding his form,Barnes needs gametime in his Legs, I am Not Sure of Ndidi, or Castagna...

Our problem none of our injuries have been Minor or Everyday niggles...

So we carry on waiting for him to reach full match fitness ??

No..I said Let him come in from the bench...

Plus we are waiting also for Barnes,Castagna, Maybe a couple of others, who arent quite being able to give yet that bit extra...

Our players injuries & Time to recover, even when selected are being underrated.

Surprises me that it is going over the Heads of quite a few of our very  own fans ...

We have internet,Weekly & daily reports, Rodgers trying to Keep it (correctly) low key.....We are Not L'pool,Chelsea or Man.city, who Not could but can carry

3-5  Major injuries.Their squad depth Quality is higher....We have had ,still have in 14 months First 2-3 Chronic injuries, last 10 months 4-8 Chronic injuries.

Und still turned over results.oh and seen our Top player..Play every game...I

I reckon Rodgers & players Need Cutting some slack...Plus Petra in our situation, being the dogsbody,water-carrier,covering a lot of ground.I Dont believe

he would of seen much game time in his selected position, if we hadnt had so much injuries.Ne might of been able to be Selfish and Play in his desired position.I

Maddison is still struggling...So I would rather ease him into games,if he was a heavy Impact injury, es might of already lost him( unknown)

Gut none of our players have Reserves the Fall they are getting from their own supporters...

I mean a few supporters  in our  First Two games, kept asking about Bertrand....When it was all over the place about Covid....dont even forum supporters

Know how to use internet..& Ask questions on players, before posting...

I like Madders. He's alright. He's not going to move in this window. I'd rather we close this thread, and just enjoy watching him concentrate on getting his head down, and producing good performances this season for us.

Not match fit for over a year.
has had a pre season in him.

Yet still doesn’t look at his fittest.

yet we want him having cameos from the bench.

It’s  not like he carries extra weight..

I just don’t get how long it takes someone to get fit…even when he’s playing regular.. it’s not like he puts in a shift like Wilf n Youri lol..

we make a decision imo, is he the player to carry us through the next 4/5 years or so we sell whilst there is apparent interest in him.

If he’s carrying an injury that just isn’t going away, pushing himself to his fullest might not be an option.. at the moment.

it certainly leaves  us, as a club in a conundrum..

Let’s face it in two games he has done nothing , he can’t hold the ball , he looks like he doesn’t want to be there , maybe take $50 million and move on , because if he keeps playing like he is , he’s no good to us .

Not strictly true is it.

He was carp on Monday but he was hardly alone was he. He set up our goal for instance.

I do agree he was overall carp but he's clearly still coming back from an injury that has really plagued him and we as supporters should, in the vast majority of situations, support our players.

Going back to Norwich on Saturday could be just the game to get him kick started.

Which is basically 98% of the transfer threads ….. someone finds an obscure link because they happen to like that player, posts it and we fill 30 pages with unrelated rubbish ….. before deciding that Perez is crap, after all. Rinse and repeat.

Since it's not even a thread about a possible non-existent transfer anymore but a thread to bitch about Maddison or defend him from bitching, why not merge it with the main Maddison thread?

Yes it is very true , but if u want to colour it another way that’s ur choice. All Iam saying he comes across like he doesn’t want to be here , if that’s the case then sell him and get someone who wants to be here

What are you seeing that indicates to you that he doesn't want to be here?

If you base it on performance then he really wouldn't be the only one.

Can we start to get behind him, support & encourage him...

This lad must be pretty down inside....Trying his best, trying to Build up his match strength,

knowing hes  still susceptable  to another hard knock, that will again see him on the sidelines...

Same as the team who have produced small Wonders ,struggle to get their best players on the pitch, but still delivered...

Yet this forum ,which should be Boncing & looking forward to this seasons challenges,

Shrinks up its own arse and deliveres Pages of negative Nuances & bum Posts....

opinion und Cross exchange of various View points, is an Obligation of any forum...

But  ffs Why does 70+ % ,seem to be grinding,  demeaning,  discrediting their own Team, manager  & players at every whim..

After 2 of  their best ever consistent seasons only surpassed by that one title season  Its become a virus....

that I reckon many cant or arent capable of thinking or Open their presentation the other way,

than just to Pick up on negatives, many without foundation,

& Like any soap-Opera brainwashed  Follower ,start minefields & campaigns over our Top manager,

Youngmen & players who have just started to turn their careers onto a more positive path...

Then lambast them  for the odd or every single mistake...Its Not the odd Single Post over knee-jerk thoughts, or reactions, after the moment, which we all have..

Too many of you, who hardly Post ,decide to Open up attacking someone, something to do with the club,

Then we must read every campaign & witchhunt they decide to hang their hat on....

I am no snowflake, & can Mix it with the best of them, probably seen more than most, but wouldnt Jump on any table to Shout the odds....

Thankfully there are enough well balanced Posters  on this forum,But we still have a very Deep negative Mindset on this forum,

that Brings down the success positives of  our club, players and forum...

There are humble,Balanced on performance opinions & views, but that balance presence

has been weighed down from over-balanced Scales of negativity..

often Based on "Lack of homework" when gathering even understanding what the full background maybe...

There are now more days I wish I hadnt even thought of logging on, to a very depressive character-set

that on most days rides this forum...

I find it amazing how blind our own supporters, are aware of the squad predicament,

and the hard trials & misfortune they the club are having to ride.

It makes me "sometimes" wish. We could go Really OTT like our north-London, & Man-utd rivals...

When will this forum have a Full week, where more positive support & encouragement comes from within the heart & Soul of our forum...

I know this probably should move to the James Maddison thread in the non transfer section but he's got to play his way back in to form and I think that's got to be from the bench or at least rotated in games as he shouldn't be starting every game at the minute irrespective of performance. I'd rather KDH or Soumare get a chance and let Maddison earn his spot. This is what happened at the start of last season and it was one of the rare brief spells where Dennis Praet provided a few goals and assists and Maddison really had to step it up, which he did and built his fitness and form back up with a bit of a point to prove. That needs to happen again as long as its not Ayoze Perez playing in his place.

I can fully agree with that, that's pretty much how I see it. I was a Madders skeptic til he delivered for a while last season, but I'm back to being negative because he adds so little when he is off form. As with Perez, you could easily say this is a management problem as much as a player problem, because BR could do something different on selection/tactics, as you suggest.

I appreciate it is difficult to get players fully fit without playing them, but we can't be held hostage by a players value for too long. It's the fundamental issue with our model I guess, the inconsistency of youthful players. Let's hope things look better in a week or two.

I dont...it was the 2nd game, without our Desired  Bline, injury- returnees,

An Away game against a confident Top Team , & most of our considered Top players & performers having a real poor game..

Our considered weak Link ,Not by me Amartey, probably our MoM,having a Good game.
