stu Posted 18 August 2021 Posted 18 August 2021 Madders won’t be off to Arsenal now, might as well close this thread? 1 1
Mike Oxlong Posted 18 August 2021 Posted 18 August 2021 I wonder if the plus bonuses part has a payment for Arsenal not being relegated

Still, don’t think he solves many of their problems, to be honest. You think he’s going there under duress ? I’m sure he’s v happy to be going back
filbertway Posted 18 August 2021 Posted 18 August 2021 Really weird that Odegaard would go to that absolute basket case of a club. Obviously paying him a massive wedge

Just thought that he’d want Champions League football in order to move teams permanently. he was there for the past six months - it’s v common for on loan players to be happy to return. They make friends in and out of the club - they feel wanted. It’s usually a contrast with how they’re being treated by the parent club.

To me it's even more mental that he's been there for 6 months and still wants to go there As I say, the wedge must be good. There's absolutely no sportive merit for a player to want to join Arsenal, it's all due to the fact they can still spunk mega money on wages.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 18 August 2021 Posted 18 August 2021 Could easily have said why did Tielemans come here and not go to a bigger club after his loan here. Obviously he liked it at arsenal. Don't think he will turn them in to a force but they'll be much better with him in the team. If they sack the p.e teacher and build a back line they could be competitive.
mozartfox Posted 18 August 2021 Posted 18 August 2021 I wonder how many Arsenal Fans have Arsenal shirts with Vardy/Mahrez and Maddison on the back ?

Wortho Posted 20 August 2021 Posted 20 August 2021 Didn’t Jamie O’Hara call Arsenal Banter FC and they’d spent £140m on a B team 2

Chambers was an England international when they bought him. It never became clear what his best position was ( I think he played in the Fulham midfield on loan). Mustafi was meant to be brilliant until he established himself as not being quite good enough at Arsenal. Arsenal's experimental method of squad development means they end up paying off contracts to free up squad space They seems to lack balance and be out of control I squad development. Odegaard is good but it is hit or miss if he will thrive at Arsenal. If Maddison stays fit, he will thrive here and the team will thrive with him.
suffolk fox Posted 20 August 2021 Posted 20 August 2021 I wish Maddison would go back to the player he was, before injury. Got the impression last weekend he wasnt actually trying. Too many misplaced passes and genuinely looked lethargic. He needs to knuckle down take off the Im better than I actually am attitude and give it 110%.

suffolk fox Posted 20 August 2021 Posted 20 August 2021 Not at all. He is a talented lad, no question but last weekend against Wolves he was poor. I for one will be glad when the transfer window closes. He then, perhaps concentrate on his game, until January of course.

Did anyone else in attendance think he wasn't trying? 1
