Looks like the external cladding/skin has changed design since last year's leaks, they now show running level with the West stand, much better in my opinion.

I keep looking at that CGI video and just being blown away. I remember when I was in my early teens watching the steelwork going up for the walkers and being blown away by the scale and excited to sit it in, but this thing is off the scale. That east stand will be one of the best looking in the country and I think that big bubble look will become iconic and its very 21st century!

The only angle that looks a bit odd is the aerial view but from ground level and inside the stadium, it will look incredible.

Considering this is being attached to a relatively cheap, indentikit stadium, they really have done a fantastic job!

is there any broader reading on the plans?? I can see the stuff on the website, but didn't know if there was a more in depth link to review....

I understand the need for "public consultation" but at the end of the day a) the King Power Stadium needs to expand given our success since 2016 b) much of the area around the site needs a revamp and c) isn't Soulsby an ardent supporter, which should stand for something.

So, my message to the Planning Dept. is ok do your due diligence etc. but let's get on with it!!

I doubt they'll give any more info until they submit they full applications in September (with minor amendments from the public which usually aren't a problem).

Then it'll be available on the planning online system bit by bit.

Best part is the new East Stand is the priority before the other 7 buildings and work will start as soon as planning approval is given. Not sure if they need any permission to demolish the National Grid building so could probably do that in advance.

I've not heard of any opposition groups forming yet so it shouldn't be delayed :fc:

So nice to see a stadium design that actually looks different.

We spend more money on stadiums than anywhere else yet they all look so bland.....but not ours.:)

No doubt at some point there will be all sorts of tv/radio etc. competitions to come up with a name for the new stand.

Unless there is some sponsorship plan involving absolutely obscene amounts of money in the pipeline, then surely there is no debate.

This will be the Vichai stand

That's 20 years more recent than when they last did anything as a football club so I don't blame them for acting like it was recently.
