That’s true, we all know how much they like to live in the past. lol

What’s sadder if you go on forest forum they’ve got a thread called “ Proper Football in the 70s and 80s before those W***ers at Sky killed it.” They literally can’t get out the past !!! It’s beyond tragic, I don’t think they’ll ever move on tbh.

Things that happened more recently:

a) Nottingham Forest being in the Premier League

b) The millennium.

or

c) Leicester City choosing to go into administration in order to avoid paying for their stadium.

It's b).

c) never actually happened.

Yet they’re desperate to get back in the top flight at the same time.

The majority of posters on that forum were probably not even born when they had their 3 years of glory.

To be fair they do have a point though, about the proper football and Sky.

I used to laugh at them banging on about when they were good ages ago, but I’ve realised that I’ll be going on about 2016 until I’m dead. It won’t matter how long ago it gets and I won’t care if people laugh at me for living in the past.

New stand looks a cracker!

However do we know if the arena, tower, pavilion etc are definitely happening?  Just semi-basic white blocks on the plans at the moment.  I hope this isn't a "hopefully one day" jobber and is just something to get the expansion planning past the council.

Also, based upon the position of the multi-storey car park and the pavilion that surely prevents us expanding the Kop and West Stand any further?  :dunno:

Also, looks like the club didn't end up buying the EON site then.

I believe the plan is to put in a full planning application for the stand and just an outline pla for the rest as for EON building these plans were put together a while ago so they may still have bought the site but it’s too soon to put into the plans as it could delay the start.

Could be that we haven't purchased the Eon site and perhaps, don't even need to?

I think at times in these conversations some have got the national grid site and the Eon site confused with each other.

I asked this in the other thread a few days back but someone posted a link to a Mercury article that mentioned we’d purchased it and I think there was another document saying that the sale was going through.

Me too :scarf:

I can't imagine anything surpassing 2016 in the rest of my lifetime so will be talking about it forever.

Did anyone go in yesterday? Looks like there’s more detail than there’s available online.

Me and the lad almost did but the queue didn't seem to be moving very fast. And it was raining.

I went Friday, when I got a photo taken. The lead guy was there answering questions. Very little detail, except for stadium expansion.

I mentioned a bridge over the water and he said it would be up the council  but they are worried about the natural surroundings of the waterfront.

Speak to a generation below and they all ramble about some half arsed UEFA Cup run under Frank Clark. The amount of them what said they were in Lyon must be they took 10,000 there

The one thing to consider about the other buildings is that LCFC will look for a partner on them to share some of the costs. For example, getting a Hilton or similar on board for the hotel. They are arena operators as well. They will go in collab with a private residential developer on the apartments too probably (like what happened with the development opposite the Novotel)

Not a chance they go into partnership with anyone, on these developments.

I'd be confident in suggesting half the developments have partners lined up.

This must be bad news for the pubs and eateries in the vacinity. The Local Hero was rammed yesterday spreading half way over the car park.

It is and it isn’t. There’s meant to be the fanzone so ultimately the club will look to try to maximise income, however there would be up to 8,000 extra people attending a match. They’ve still got to go somewhere. I bet most regulars will

stick to their routines and may head down a little earlier than normal.

We shall see.

I definitely don't see it for the hotel, they already run hotels elsewhere.

Only reason to do it is access expert knowledge/contacts or money.

I don't see it for money reasons.

They will, they won’t be interested in the day to day running of the places, it will be something like Hilton @ Kingpower as long as they get the rent and the name broadcasted I’m sure they will be happy, same with the residential building they will get a Management company in to deal with the day to day stuff but will pick up the rental money
