Disagree. If we ‘sit in’ tonight and hit them on the counter attack I’m confident we’ll win. If we go and sit on the halfway line camped in their half which is what they want, they’ll do exactly what they did to us last season.

Come and break us down, I doubt they’ve got the quality to do so.

The two competitive games we’ve seen we’ve been able to do that, but against two fairly blunt attacks. But, it does give me some confidence that we could withstand a barrage…

Little Patson to get a couple on the break…..

If we sit in they will rain endless crosses into our penalty area which will only end one way, given their big height advantage and the fact we are fielding our third choice left back and our fifth choice centre back.

This is a very old fashioned view of football, this isn’t really how the modern game is played.
Push them wide and let them try to cross balls past Ricardo and Thomas into Antonio Benrama and Bowen all day if they like, if Amartey and Soyuncu can’t manage that then they need shipping out.

Some really odd comments in this thread, can’t believe everyone writing us off so badly and talking West Ham up literally like they’re man city

Imagine if Soyuncu gets injured :nono:

Yeah, but as it stands, we have Soyuncu, Benkovic and Amartey. I don’t think the ‘crisis’ is as bad as being made out tbh. Also, we don’t know how long Vesty is out for.
Hopefully we can get through to after the international break with the three we have.

If we win the next two, inc tonight, I really won’t be too concerned

So not meaning to stoke anything here but...

Bristol City have had one of the worst injury records in the Championship in recent seasons.... currently have a fully fit squad to choose from (and a Matty James who looks like a new man!)

We used to have a very good injury record and the last two seasons it's been toilet....

I think people are missing the whole reason why we have been getting bad injuries................ NO PIZZA 🍕! Under Ranieri that was the key to our success!

To lose four defenders may be considered a misfortune; to lose five looks like Conspiracy

Haven't written us off at all. Did I say that? Just think that if we let them lob lots of high balls into our box it is a risky strategy. They have so many huge players who are good in the air, Souchek arguably the best header of the ball in the division.

Arise Sir Benkovic! Now my son, Now, is the time to stand up and be counted! take your chance. Prove yourself as the warrior you truly are.

I think the whole club including the Pepsi junior foxes would have to be out of CB for Benkovic to get a game…..

because his legs are made of Chipsticks

He does have working legs though, which is more than can be said for most of our defence.
