Club Brugge (Belgium)

FC Porto (Portugal)

Sporting (Portugal)

Inter Milan (Inter)

Barcelona (Spain)

Villarreal (Spain)

Lille (France)

Zenit St Petersburg (Russia)

Inter is the only one of those I'd be concerned about overly and they've been weird all season, quite inconsistent.

People seem to think I was joking about Barcelona but they're horrendous at the moment. Obviously "murder" is slight hyperbole but if we played with the intensity in the press that we did against United and we committed to really trying to hurt them on the counter then I think we'd take them apart.

I'd be far more worried about us against some "smaller" side who'd park the bus, press us and make it a fight.

Also how awesome would it be playing Barcelona (albeit a weaker one than we’re used to!) in a competitive European match? Who wouldn’t want that!

One reason is the garbage away end.

Get though and let the draw take care of itself.

I'd imagine most of us would have prefered not to have played Man U or Chelsea in our FA Cup winning run.

To win competitions you have to beat good sides.

Yes, but the fewer good sides you have to beat the more chance of winning a trophy.

The easiest route is always preferred and is clearly an advantage.

Not really my point to be honest.

I got your point fine; be superb playing them competitively at the King Power. I was showing what SE was meaning, probably wrong poster to quote.

Do we think we'll be given a bit more notice to organise Napoli away, or another last minute dash to sort it all out....unless you take a gamble and book it all now.

Tbf despite my criticism very much evident elsewhere, this increasingly looks like it may be dictated by COVID

As it stands, 3rd means dropping down to the Conference League.

Our next opponents would be:-

LASK (Austria)

Partizan Belgrade (Serbia)

Roma (Italy)

Jablonec (Czech Republic)

Maccabi Haifa (Israel)

Copenhagen (Denmark)

Vitesse Arnhem (Netherlands)

Basel (Switzerland)

If we qualify 2nd, we'd play the drop down teams from the Champions League which as it stands would be:-

Club Brugge (Belgium)

FC Porto (Portugal)

Sporting (Portugal)

Inter Milan (Inter)

Barcelona (Spain)

Villarreal (Spain)

Lille (France)

Zenit St Petersburg (Russia)

Well well well lol

I think we'll finish 2nd now. I fancy us to get the job done at home to Legia/Spartak although we need to not fall into some silly traps against them, which I wouldn't put past us.

I think the CL dropouts will be what you said, replacing Barcelona with Benfica and Inter with Sheriff.

We're usually good at home in Europe. I know we like to knock our crowd but they can be very partisan at times (Sevilla being the main example) and the style of the win in Moscow will get people back onside.

At the risk of it going the wrong way again, the mood around the place has really lifted in the past week.

Legia got pummelled 4-1 today, they’ve lost 4 on the bounce since they beat us in Warsaw at the end of last month! If we continue in our current improved vein of form I fancy us to put them to the sword at the KP!

Good news. It is in our hands to get 1st place. Bad news. Lose to Legia and we are OUT.

The home game vs Legia next up is critical. If we win, then we are in a good position to get through. However, we would still need at least a draw in Napoli to guarantee progress (or rely on Legia to mess up against Spartak). 3rd place would be guaranteed.

If we draw, we are as good as out unless we beat Napoli (yeah right) and Legia drop points against Spartak.

Yesterday's draw is costly for our chances of getting through. If we fail to finish at least 2nd then we have failed as a club and the season is heading for a failure. This could be make or break and define how the remainder of the season pans out.

To be honest finishing 3rd is probably our best chance of prolonging our European season. Shown no form or expectation that we can progress much further in the Europa League, especially if we have a play off against a champions League drop out.

Anyone encounter any Spartak fans yesterday? Popped in The Hind for a quick bottle of Red Stripe before my train and a few came in in a very good mood. Was like reverse Russian dolls though, every new Spartak fan who came in was bigger and moodier than the previous one.

Parked up and a car parked behind us and the guy got out and asked if it was OK to park there. Seemed like a family who obviously live in the UK. That was the only interaction I had, not enough to make any judgement on anything.
