Being really honest, his mentality keeps him out of the side. 

 

On his day, he's unplayable. He was a key part of that outrageous Ajax side that romped to a champions league semi in one of the most entertaining cup runs of recent times. It got one of them a move to Barca, another to Juve and another to United. 

 

It put the manager on the map as one of Europe's finest. 

 

But Neres reaction was to let it get to his head and went a bit off the rails. Parties, girls, weed, he let all of the excesses of life in Europe go to his head and it hit his football hard. 

 

He's not the first poor kid from working class life in South America to struggle with the fame of playing this side of the Atlantic. Like Adriano, Ronaldinho, Gabigol etc before him there were times when the draw of his new found wealth and reputation took him way off course. 

 

If a club signs him with a good manager that can forge a solid relationship with him, get him focused on his football, get him working for the team again then <20m will be deal of the century. He's an unbelievably skillful footballer that's used to a hard running, high pressing system. He'd be a dream here at his best, probably more than Ziyech would have. 

 

But it's about the man that coaches him. The wrong coach and the wrong club atmosphere and he probably keeps costing, smoking weed, taking the piss and killing his reputation. I think Rodgers would actually be fantastic for his career but we don't know if we even have 15m to throw around. We might not actually be interested. It's probably just another silly link. 

 

If we ARE interested, people probably need patience. There's no way we shows up fully match fit. He'll be like Under, miles behind the rest of the squad.

As someone with a lot of love for Ajax (they’re my favourite team outside of Leicester) I would be happy to see this happen. He is a fantastic player admittedly issues off the pitch but even on loan he would cover the gap well. I think win win
