I think Everton win the award for the most bizarre transfer window:

Andros Townsend, Demarai Gray, Asmir Begovic, Andy Lonergan and Salomon Rondon.

It's either genius or madness

Good poll.

Baffled by everyone who thinks United had the best window. I don’t think they even had a good window, after spaffing their whole inheritance on an ageing egomaniac. Their hands are tied for the next three windows now.

If they’d got Ndidi (and thank God they didn’t), they’d have been much better off than they are with Ronaldo.

Come at me in March when they’re out of all the cups and fighting for top 3…

A world cup winning centreback, one of Englands hottest prospects, and the leading serie A goalscorer last season who happens to be the leading goalscorer of all time is whats called a sensational window, and anyone saying otherwise really is just doing it for devils advocate purposes.

How much money do you think they will make off Ronaldo?

Sponsers will be fall over themselves to get a piece of the action, just like they did at Juve, adidas doubled the money involved in there shirt deal, Jeep did the same for the shirt shirt sponsors because of him.

Man United had the best window by a mile imo, sancho, varane and bloody Ronaldo, that's some going for the outlay.

I think keeping everyone was the most important thing for us. Our 11 is/was already good enough to compete for top 4, our real issue was the injuries. Had we kept just one of Barnes, Ricardo or Justin fit last season I'm pretty sure if not absolutely certain we'd have made top 4. We've added depth to the squad and that's what we really needed. Now if, God forbid, Wilf gets injured we've got an upgraded replacement in Soumare. Largely the same across the positions we've strengthened in.

Most excited about Daka, but I wonder how much we'll see of him in the league.

Came here to post this. Just spat my drink out reading they signed Rondon. Wtf lol

Rondon scored 11 in 32 for Newcastle, and how many chances do they create? Practically none. He's 31, I think he could do alright, he's not the worst back up for a team below the elite.

Good fit for Everton too who play quite a direct style, balls into the box, physicality.

Calvert Lewin is an "old fashioned" number 9 and Rondon is a decent backup in that style. Not many such players around now.

Most excited about lovely Pat and looking forward to him getting his chance. I do, however, have a sneaking if largely baseless suspicion Lookman might turn out to be a very good signing and it'll be great when Soumare is up to speed and entire opposition teams are bouncing off him like in the Community Shield.

For most important I went depth because I think that's what has essentially stopped us getting over the line for the last two seasons. Keeping everyone might be good symbolically or for morale purposes but we've managed just fine after selling in the past and can anyone really tell me we'd be that much worse off if someone had given us silly money for e.g. Maddison or Soyuncu and we'd been able to do even more in the market?

As for who's done the best, I voted for us but really I don't think anyone has done well enough to say they clearly "won". I think we've done some very smart business without really addressing what I thought should have been among our very top priorities at the start of the window. Man Utd have done well with Sancho and Varane but I'm not sure how good an addition Ronaldo is at this stage and they've still got Fred the Red holding the midfield together. Villa have spent big on a few theoretically decent signings but lost their talisman. Thinking about it logically you'd maybe have to say Chelsea but I can't bring myself to give them too much credit for slinging £100m at someone they previously binned and the way it's been spun as some heartwarming fairytale homecoming is nauseating.

Man Utd is an interesting one, undoubtedly they have brought in some good players, but have they plugged the gaps they had?

If they had spent the big on a top quality DM then I would have said they win.

Bringing in Ronaldo commercially makes sense, not sure it does from a footballing sense though. With Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford, Cavani, Fernandes I’m not sure a 36 year old on half a million a week is what they should have been spending on.

I think we’ve had a great window, we have cover for all of the players of to AFCON, we haven’t lost anyone and have a bit more depth. Goal scorers always excite and I think Daka will be perfect for giving Vardy a rest.

Lookman excites me, I think he is an upgrade on the right. If we ever get everyone fit, and on form there isn’t many teams I fear playing.

We desperately need Evans back fit and leading as I think leaders on the pitch is something we are missing.

Next transfer window, I would look to bring in a CB who can organise the back line like Evans does.

Our window was a bit like Ademola Lookman lol (going by Fulham fans and his track record at Leipzig) - started out like a lion and went out as a lamb.

Sensible even-handed window, but didn't fully meet the expectations from the initial signings and links. COYF!

They’ve signed Jadon Sancho who is gonna be one of the best wingers in the world. One of the best centre halves in the world and arguably the greatest player of all time who shows no signs of slowing down. They’ve had the best window by far.

With us, I’d go 7.5/10. Signed some experience and some exciting young unproven players.  No real marquee signing or anything like that but that’s not what we are about.

Very happy with our window- 8/10. Another right winger would have made it a 10. I think Patson and Soumare offer huge potential and will be great for us. Bertrand and Vestergaard offer much needed experience and in each case, something we didn't have before and hopefully Lookman gives us some cover for Harvey as gets back to his best. A few squad fillers have left too.

All for a £55m spend - that's a strong window in my opinion.
