I gave a group of lads a lift to someone’s wedding after their bus broke down near to my house.

Ended up speaking to them about football and they asked me who I supported, I said I was a big Leicester fan and they went quiet which I thought was a bit weird (they were all fans of London clubs).

Check the local paper a few days later and turns out I’d dropped them off at Andy Kings wedding, hence their silence when I said I was a season ticket holder and a big Leicester fan lol

Another drunken time in Zanzibar in the ‘Cabana room’ I bumped into Richard Stearman and Trevor Benjamin. I went up to Benjamin and said ‘Hey you’re Trevor Benjamin!’ He turned around and said ‘I’m his twin brother’. Stearman, sucking his Chubba Chubba lollipop from the Lucky Lucky man, thought it was absolutely hilarious.

Benjamin was an absolute unit. Stearman was an absolute penis.

Stearman is married to a girl who was in my year at Winstanley. She was part of the popular gang but wasn't actually an arse tbf, just a bit elitist.

I'm sure her best friend was with Joe Mattock as well at one point, not sure if it was around the same time as Mattock's troubles though.

Funny one from when I was a student at Uni, I was sat in a class one day - and noticed this other student sat in a full Leicester training kit across the room. So after the lecture I introduced myself to the guy as a City fan as well, to which he responded, “I’m not actually a Leicester fan - I’m just on trial for them at the moment”

So yeah anyways he was a tank Serbian/British goalkeeper called Milan Barisic, top bloke was always a laugh and a big character. His family had ties with Milan Mandaric and he’d previously been a young goalkeeper at places like Reading and Southampton. Sadly didn’t work out as he didn’t get signed - but did end up playing a bit for Oxford City in the end I believe. Had some great nights out with him after his trial period was over but sadly fell out of touch over time, anyways its a small world I guess 😂

Most of them were up their own arse knobbers. Never met Nugent but King was proper down to earth. Top bloke.

When my son was about eight years old he sent a hand written letter to David Nugent (c/o the KP) asking him to send him his autograph, promising to send his back when he played for England. Nugent duly sent an autograph and a nice note, my son is yet to play for England...

One time before an evening away game against Luton David pleat had the lads on the pitch doing a bit of an impromptu set peice training session. Me and my friends knew their usual leaving time for away games and so we we waiting for autographs. Got a few as they got onto the coach.  Marc North came back off the coach and asked us to go get him a couple of cans of lucozade and a couple of Mars bars  he gave me the money and off I shot.. friends gave up as I was outrunning them.  I burst into filbert grocers and announced I was here to buy Mars bars and lucozade for Marc north.  Chap behind the till was suitably unimpressed- not sure what I was expecting… so I got the Mars bars and lucozades ( he was buying for Ricky Hill aswell)   Paid for them and legged it back to the coach. Marc Morth came down the stairs, took the stuff and told me to keep the change! It was about 56p! I was well chuffed.

all players and staff were on the coach by now except David Pleat..  he came out carrying his footy boots and a tracksuit .. he saw us standing there grinning with our autograph books and said “ are you waiting for me?” To which we all nodded. He said “ let me put this on the coach and I’ll be back” he then walked up the steps, told the driver  to go, the doors slammed shut, the coach drove off and he left us standing there books and pens in hand looking like muppets.

His highfield visits didn’t  earn the same disdain from me as that did.

David Pleat lived in a standard two up two down terrace on Francis St….

My mate rented it in the mid 90’s…. He was informed on moving in who the recent tenant was… It was known as the ‘house of pleat’….   We always wondered what sweaty sworded shenanigans he’d got up to in there…

Went to school with Liam Moore and played him at footy in PE once. We lost 5-4, he scored all five for them, I scored all four for us.

Got into a fight with him because I tackled him from behind when he was through on goal once again - this was when he was still an academy prospect, had no idea he was. He's an alright guy though, and I forgave him when he scored against Wigan. lol

In the O'Neill era my Dad used to park matchdays in a carpark we referred to as the 'Carl Heggs carpark' because we thought the guy running it looked just like Carl Heggs, who was playing for Rushden at the time.

One day we turned up and his mate was running it instead. When we asked where the usual guy was, he said "he's off watching his brother Carl Heggs play".

That’s his twin Craig

Leicester Fosse actually went bust.

Leicester City was made then on. So technically we weren't formed in 1884? Believe we were properly formed in 1919?

Anyone else shed light on this

I thought they just changed the name when Leicester officially became a ‘city.’
