Quite honestly, not really that bothered about the League Cup this year. Bigger fish to fry this season.

Absolutely!..

Don't risk any key players in this... so playing Maddison and Perez is fine!

IMO Lookman shouldn't start, because he should be starting in the Premier League game!

Sort of agree but it's not like he's a 35 year old sick note, he should be able to start two games in a week and he needs some game time with the rest of the squad.

I'd start him against Millwall and still play him at the weekend.

....I believe the popular belief is that Daka cannot play upfront on his own!!!

Nacho would be the one to partner him and I would like to see Soumare in charge of running this team as he seems a leader and someone who can pull players into position. Maddison to be pulled from the firing line, I am sure I have heard audible groans in the crowd when he has errored and he needs to address what is happening and impacting on his game.

As my optimism for the league starts to fade my hope of a good cup run increases. I personally think we need to go far in this as our fringe players need it.

minutes for ward, Thomas, kdh and benkovic are needed and deserved tbh.

Agreed! He hasn't played a full 90 yet, so he could easily play 60 / 90 in this match to get more match fitness as well as play in the Burnley game.

If he plays against Millwall, I think he will start on the left instead of the right though, because Perez or Albrighton will start on the other side.

I can't find any international stations that are showing it.

There's 3 all PL clashes. This must have a low priority in broadcasting terms.

Anyone know if there will be a stream for this match anywhere?

No official stream in the US :(

Odd to pick all the PL-v-PL matches, sure to be “B” sides and youth players …

rather than PL-v-EFL tilts which may (?) feature more first teamers from the Champ / L1 sides, and a possible giant killing in Wimbledon's match.

People saying they don't care, surely you don't want us to get knocked out by Millwall?

I definitely do care, and Milwall are absolutely grim, so any pasting would be appreciated.

But TBH, we could do without the added stresses on the squad if we want to win the Europa League. Our depth is better, but still not enough to sustain a proper go at four separate competitions IMO.

I do understand why people would prefer us not to be in it.

Is this right? Could you be thinking of Nacho? First I've heard of this.

I'm slowly, ever so slowly, turning anger in to excitement that we have a game in 2 days time. I can't remember the last time it took over a day to get over any game where we didn't win.

Winning breeds confidence and momentum so I'm hoping we can put in a solid performance and get a decent win in.

A Vardy Replacement? How does Daka play?

The Zambian forward plays predominantly through the middle, with all of his appearances for Salzburg coming in that position this season. However, he is also adept at playing on either flank, as he did on occasion in 2019/20. For the most part, however, Daka is most comfortable through the middle, spearheading an attack.

There is one stylistic tweak that will be needed from the new signing, however. At Salzburg, much of his success came in a formation with two strikers. His striking partner (Mergim Berisha for the most part) tended to drop slightly deeper, drawing defenders out of position and allowing Daka to run in behind.

Leicester City, on the other hand, tended to play in a 3-4-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 system with a lone striker for much of the season. They did, however, switch to a 3-4-1-2 in order to accommodate both Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho towards the end of the season.

It seems likely, therefore, that Daka may have to get used to ploughing a lone furrow for the Foxes, something that certainly will take some time to adjust to.

Nowhere in there does it say he can't play up front on his own.

I wouldn't rotate too much. Not that I think Milwall are that much of a threat, but we need to win and we also need a good performance.

How can people not care about challenging for a domestic trophy lol

Some football fans are so weird nowadays. FA Cup final day was superb, even with all the restrictions, and I'd do every season if I could.

Off topic, but anyway. Napoli are beating Udinese 2-0 away. Currently top of Serie A. Udinese 7th. Osihnem scored one and one assist.

Barca in a play off, here we go.

It's all about money. Bigger audience with 2 PL teams. Club's fans alone.
