How much coverage will we get on sky today with Liverpool/Man City on after

Score first and I can see the confidence come back pretty quickly but can only see Palace wingers causing us all sorts of problems running at us.

Might be a good day to avoid in-depth coverage. We'll probably be lectured for booing the team for the first time in 2 and a half years and told to pipe down, know our place, Brendan is doing wonderfully etc.

Probably, but they won’t be saying to him “yea Brendan this is all a bit shit” just yet.

he will - and Brendan will also be saying that

but they won’t be over reacting because they know that it’s still fine margins

we should have got something at brighton (last season we were worse than this season for much of the game and got a late winner), as badly as we defended against Burnley, we should have won the game.  We could have got a point against Man City.  The only game we were woeful in was West Ham.   The idea that we have been playing superb football for two seasons without being under threat of losing games simply doesn’t stand up.   The crude Xg stats for last season showed that our form late on was more reflective of the period where we gaining almost  2 points per game on average.

winning hides a multitude of issues ……..

Haha don't be silly, the Liverpool, Man City love fest isn't going to allow for such conversations.

I don’t disagree.

As I mention in the BR thread, my only gripe with him, is the fact we won’t move away from his main football philosophy, to try and regain a collective confidence, which has quite clearly gone.

We’re still one of the most dangerous sides in the premier league, but because of the way we’re playing we’re stifling the attack, I’m hoping that Brendan’s back to basics comment on his press conference is in reference to what he plans to do. Here’s hoping he just gets the lads to sit off a little a counter a bit more. Once we’ve started winning again the confidence will come back, and we will be able to start playing the free flowing football Brendan likes.

I just ask for a little more flexibility with his approach, I’m sure he will, he’s a clever bloke and a quality coach.

I would  be love to see this. Unfortunately I can’t see Maddison or Vestergaard being dropped by Rodgers.

Oh god, I just realised it’s Sunday and Vestergaard is in defence for us again….

Can’t see Rodgers going with anything other than a back 5 with both Evans & Ndidi out.

Kasper

Ricardo or Castagne

Amartey

Vestegaard

Soyuncu

Bertrand

Soumoure

Tielemans

Maddison or Perez

Vardy

Kelechi

Barnes & Lookman on to change the shape and change the game when 2-0 down lol

352 pls BR

I would rather put castagne is a right cb (of a 3) with albrighton right wing back. Rucky left wing back.

Surely worth a try after the horror shows with amartey vest and cags

Lookman for Barnes

Kels has to start with vards.

I really am lost when it comes to betting terms and odds etc.

I'll have a pot of tea on come kick off time. And maybe, if I'm feeling brave, a packet of rich rea.

PG Tips?

Timmy, as good a player as he undoubtedly is, has shown that he's as much use as a chocolate teapot at centre half, he makes Armarty look like Franco Beresi. On one of his last matches in that position, he'd been so bad that the pundits pulled out the stats to prove it. It was another example of Rodgers artistic period of putting anything square, rectangle or triangle into a round hole. I felt very sorry for Castagne that day, even he looked embarrassed.

So if Nacho doesn't start, are we expecting one of the biggest FT meltdowns in modern history? :crylaugh:

Two contenders for biggest meltdown right there. lol

Suspect and hope Nacho starts, but that likely means poor  @Staff loses out and gets to wear the meltdown kilt this week

It begs the question, if we play 3 at the back it's less likely Nacho will start right? So I reckon it's one or the other and a meltdown is inevitable

Do you think rudders and Brendan aren’t discussing football stuff almost daily ?

...if they are, nothing has changed and to be honest Rudders is not the man he should be talking to!!!

We have the talent right here right now, we just do not have the the right environment for them to flourish, and that it seems covers a myriad of things.

Tactically we are limited and that may come from Rodgers unwilling to take advice or his whole backroom team has insufficient knowledge of football strategy in which to overcome this malaise.

There has to be a turning point and the reaction from the crowd should not mean we go and throw more money at the problem, no one learns anything from that, but there is an apathy that surrounds this team, and we need to get them out of their own heads with a distraction of some kind.

The relentless games and mental energy they have put in, in the last two seasons, I believe, has taken a toll. We failed to make top four on the last day on both occasions and perhaps we or the team, have not quite understood what that would have psychologically taken from us, and then they are being asked to go again.

No other team has experienced what we have gone through, and we need to get back some kind of enjoyment from the game, but until the players can come to terms with what has happened, we will all be going through the whole experience with them, in every game.
